It's not that Zoe has too much power, but rather an unproportional amount,

Yes, her E and Q are ridiculously strong, but her ult and passive are pretty lackluster compared to other champs modern times. Her W is an rng table, and THAT has problems of its own. If you take her kit as a whole and mash the numbers together, she doesn't end up doing that much more damage than a regular mage with their full rotation.

She simply just have too much power jampacked onto E and Q.

One of the most common comparisons you see is between Zoe and old Nidalee. Old nidalee relied almost entirely on her spears and heals, which were also 2 basic abilities. Another example could be Blitz. Land your Qs well, and you can completely turn the tide of a teamfight with a good pick. Miss your Q or hit the wrong target, and you're not only useless, but also possibly detrimental to your team.

You'd think they'd learn about how much people hated those types of champs. Zoe could've been an experiment to see if that kind of kit could be reintroduced in a healthy manner into League again.

The problem with many of the ideas based around nerfing her Q and E are that Zoe's niche is based around those two. If you nerf those, she won't do anything.

In my opinion, the problems with her kit could be solved through:

  1. W RNG fix (multiple ideas circulating around boards)
  2. Less emphasis on Q and E, and buffing passive/W/R in other ways to compensate.

I think you hit most of it.

But her QER (or no R) can be spammed at a high frequency, whereas other mages are not spamming their full combo frequently. Miss one E, just wait for CD (or them to walk into it).

I just feel like her E should be shorter in duration. Right now you just spam your E until you hit, then go for the oneshot. No more skill involved.

Her window of opportunity is way too big with her current E duration.

I'm kind of getting sick of someone saying Nidalee's somehow changed. Nidalee's one of my rotation champs and she still pretty much does the same thing she's always done. It's all about Q, and RQ does % damage based on missing HP..... so..... She's still there.

Have you ever bothered to look at new Evelynn's Kit or Leblanc's kit? Leblanc's PASSIVE is HUGE:

INNATE: LeBlanc's spells mark affected enemies with Sigil of Malice for 4 seconds. The Sigil charges over the next 1.5 seconds, after which LeBlanc's next spell that hits the target will shatter it to deal 30 - 300 (based on level) (+ 80% AP) bonus magic damage.

And that charges every 5 seconds.

LB is basically a reshuffled Zoe.

Evelynn; I know meta builds, but her currently scaling is just as strong if not moreso than Zoe's. If you manage to build this, you will literally almost 1 hit with Eve's E, and the sloppy seconds don't require anything but an auito attack: Death Cap + Seraph's + Morellonomicon + Nashors + Lich Bane + CDR/Mobis on Eyeballs + transcendence + gathering storm. You will easily have a 6 + 35-39% modifier on E + 140 base damage, as well as Nashor's proc, the Lich Bane's proc. It raids about 2000 damage in 1 hit. Don't hear anyone complaining about that.

And what about Kha zix, who has a 60% win rate among people who actually main him? #1 in kills and #2 in damage, Controls an entire game if he gets level 2-3 FB vs other jungler in Isolation.

I actually have no problem with Zoe. She has two incredibly powerful skills. But she has more than a couple glaring weaknesses as well.

I find that her biggest weakness is an INSANE lack of waveclear. If you spam push everything to her tower, she runs into big trouble. Either spend mana on a half-clear (if that) or try to last hit with her lousy basic attacks.

Also, she has no real escape. If you play a mobile champion and she misses her bubble, you can pounce on her no problem, especially pre-6. Even when she ults she can only dodge with it. She doesn't actually teleport away.

Her skills interact with minions and none of her skills go through them. If you stay behind your wave it is a huge barrier against Zoe. She won't be able to hit you.

And did I mention she is squishy squishy squishy? Traditional "combo" mages like Brand Ryze Anivia seem to do pretty well against her. Just land your main damage and she's basically forced out of lane. Seriously. On new accounts Brand is free. Zoe loses hard against Brand . Go nuts.

Also her teamfighting is not that good. Her main job is to catch one person out and delete them with her sleep. But in teamfights very, very often one of her teammates will stop the sleep early and her combo will be ruined. I mean, she can still doom one person by catching them with sleep, but if that fails she can't do much.

Yes, her EQ is VERY STRONG. But that's basically all that's good about her. Just dodge the bubble and you'll be okay (I mean, you gotta dodge the star too but that's not too hard).

Final tip: her Bubble is a massive threat. Flash to dodge the drowsy debuff if you have to. I wouldn't recommend flashing AFTER getting drowsy'd though.
