Would it be dumb to try to learn how to jungle as Ivern?

Hey. Supp/top main here. I really like how Ivern's kit seems to play, but I've only jungled like... twice ever.

Due to how atypical he is as a jungler, would it be foolish for me to try to learn the role with him as my first champ? Or should I just go for it?

Yes.

Going Ivern as your first jungler could be a bit of a strange way to start, as he has the ability to clear camps without fighting them, along with having unique paths he can take. Honestly, if you wanted to learn jungle I think it would make more sense to learn as some of the easier jungle champions to become better at the jungling tricks (ganking, objective calling, smiting, pathing, etc.) before you start up with Ivern, so that way you already know the basics behind the jungle before you give him a go. Then again, you can also just do whatever you want and start with Ivern, as no one can stop ya lol.

This is just the way I see it though.

I think you should try it! Hopefully you have enough game knowledge to know what every role does, and if you do, you should be okay.

He's a good champ to learn some basics with, bit because of his unique clearing style, he doesn't translate well to most other jungles. If you want to learn a jungler, go for it! If you want to learn the role as a whole I would stay away.

I spent a lot of time thinking about Ivern on release and I think I did well. Because you are a support main Ivern would be good for you, need to manage Brushmaker and Daisy though.

Just think about where you're going to clear and try to save smite for counter jungling.

what do you mean "learn"? There is nothing to it.

Just click on camps for gold.

He is like MetaKnight in Brawl, it isn't a question of learning how to play him but knowing the OP things you can even do with him. If you want to learn how to Jungle, I wouldn't recommend him as your first champ. When you play Ivern, you aren't jungling so much as you are playing Ivern. if that makes any sense.

he'd give you a completely false impression of how the role generally operates.
