item 3053 > Riven

For all the Riven haters out there, you should love this thing

How is it shit item 3053 gives you a shield (Blitz shield but decaying quickly) that could completely cockblock an ult (depending on how much it does) + points for giant swag

...is it? I mean...it gives health-based frontliners who build health over resistances a lot more staying power in a fight. Is it worth an item slot? I think so, but then an item that asks you to get nuked before it becomes incredibly useful is always going to be debatable.

people do actually build these and they have stricter requirements than sterak's item 3156 item 3026

I think it's incredibly useful when facing off against bursty comps. it's an auto-barrier that scales well and really solidifies a juggernaut. The way you usually beat a juggernaut is to use someone with incredibly high burst that would help take them down to the point where when he finally reaches the back line you just Auto him once or twices as an adc and he'd die. so this really helps them make it past burstier comps. If you use this against skirmishing champs (basically poking champs) you'll never really get to use it's effect much because they can easily wait a few seconds to chunk you again. it's really just an anti burst item.

I think Sterak's is an amazing item!

I build it on any non-adc champ that builds Triforce atm, it provides a quick massive boost to health and a decent boost to damage then also amplifies the Triforce damage, all on top of helping you deny being 100-0 by anyone and everything.

As an example I have been building it on GP top lane second if I'm not fed enough to just rush through an I.E. second, and with it my Q damage as well as my barrels do enough damage to insta clear an entire minion wave just as a crit would with an I.E., and the damage against champs is comparable for the early game (before people get too tanky ofc), and it ofc grants that shield to help if anyone decides to jump me in the back lines while I shoot people and barrels.

I've also been building it on bruisers third or fourth, Skarner and Vi as examples, and I've even been using it on my bruiser Rengar. Honestly I'd consider it OP before I considered it shit.
