I don't get the whole "teleport back to the middle of top lane after dying" thing

I dabble in top casually so I don't really consider myself a top laner but I just play it a lot in nornals because I like a bunch of champions that go top.

So I don't really know why top laners make certain decisions a lot of the time. Most of all I don't get why somebody would teleport back to lane immediately after respawning after dying to a level 2 gank. But this is hilariously common. Do they think my jungler isn't gonna return to kill them again?

I mean, I get that when you have your jungler around you can get a revenge gank but I can usually figure out whether or not they have backup and most of the time it seems like people just do it out of tilt and die again.

Like ok I get being tilted and doing bad trades but the decision to actually teleport into your death is just insane to me.

I guess most people don’t think that the jungler won’t gank them again. If I die to a lvl 2 gank I will usually tp to my tower, then I will wait for the wave to be on my side or I use my ranged abilities to pick up some farm while I wait for the wave.

I personally just think they aren’t really thinking about anything else besides getting to lane as fast as possible to farm again.

i think its mostly because so they dont miss out on any farm, and on some occurances, keep a minion alive so the turret doesnt kill it for tower dives or killing the turrret

cs and farm, if you die thats one thing, but if you die and lose farm it is worse.

I teleport back to my turret if I need to use it in order not to miss a minion wave. I'm talking about the thing where people teleport back into the middle of the wave immediately.

it is also a way to stop opponent from farming, say the cannon minion is in lane, they are about to take it, spawn on it, your minions rush in and back you up, and they can try to fight a full hp you and wave for a cannon, or back off and lose it... 1st kill isn't always good in top lane/mid, you come back full hp and assumably items, able to kill them back possibly. just another tool

its a symptom of tilt.

Dying in top lane is a huge thing, especially early on. Every point of EXP, every bit of gold matters, and to miss how ever much of both of those because of time spent walking back to lane will put you extremely behind

reads this, thinks about the jg udate, and throws table out the window
