In all honesty careful there Rito. Wouldn't want to buff him back to 80% pick/ban... honestly I don't know why people don't play him more. Y'know I though of a crazy Idea, how about giving his W a silence at 0.5/1/1.3/1.6/1.9 seconds? Idk I tried.
His base damages are really bad, and his scaling/CD/Mobility are really good. Very difficult champion to have an impact on early, but if you can just steal a few kills you'll roll over the entire game.
People dont play kass anymore because
1.pretty damn boring compared to newer assassins. Effective and Fun are two different things. Zed outplaying some fool with his shadows blinks and tri-angulated shuriken strikes is fun and flashy, Katarina using her daggers to rapidly wipe a team is fun, Fizz blueballing skillshots with trollpole is somewhat fun. For all intents and purposes Kassadin acts more like a ball of stats that keeps flashing on top of you. this is mostly anecdotal but you get the point.
The reason people don't play kassadin as much is he has half his R range, changed his ratios to be benefited by more mana, and is a late gane assassin instead of a strong early snowball assassin.
If I had to guess why people don't play Kassadin more, I would say it's likely because of Yasuo and Zed, two very powerful AD mid laners that didn't exist back when Kassadin was 90% pick/ban.
Kassadin's passive reduces the amount of magic damage he takes by 15%, which makes him a very effective anti-mage, and his silence has been replaced with a shield that absorbs magic damage, but that doesn't make him dominate mid lane like it used to. There are too many sources of physical damage now, and first picking Kassadin will get you thrown against a Zed easily.

he will still be shit until they fix his issue
I like him he's one of the few assassins i like, his playstyle feels more like a bruiser though imo.
