This. These previous posts are PERFECT example why surrender should be eliminated from ranked.
They are quitters. They see a daunting task and they fold underneath of it. People who play ranked should go in understanding that not every game is going to end well for them. Yet people are so focused on not playing a game where they aren't winning at all times, they'd give up as soon as they can, just so they can get into a game where they can maybe, possibly, have a perfect game.
The hardest part of League is playing from behind. It requires 100% precision and effort, making perfectly calculated decisions and calls. When there are afks, it requires the most of you as a player to make up for it. It's insanely difficult, but it makes you so much better. It is this understanding of the game that makes me question people who would rather afk/surrender. You are so dead set on the fact that you are going to lose, why not use the time to practice your skills?
And for those who quit and surrender when games that are lopsided: have you ever seen an epic comeback? Have you ever been a part of one? Have you ever made a play that turned the course of the game in your favor at a critical moment? My guess is no, you haven't. You probably have given up before you were able to make that play. No game is a loss until the Nexus goes down, and until then, anything can happen. Someone on the other team could misplace an ult, or get caught out, or miss a Baron smite, or be split pushing when there is a team fight. It is this mentality of "be ahead in the game at all times or it's a lost cause" that drives me up a wall.
I never vote yes for a surrender. Ever. I have played a 2v5 once, and I played it until the end. My teammate and I both went 7/2/5, and we even destroyed 2 towers. We outplayed the enemy team, they just were able to split push and win because we didn't have the numbers to match them. We played well, and we had fun. The enemy team all honored us for playing it out, for giving them a heck of a fight. That is what it means to play with pride. I take pride in a loss, because I know that I never gave up.
I can't count how many 4v5s I have won because of solid play. I guarantee you though, 90% of the people in my ELO don't understand that you CAN win a 4v5. I just hope I can play with that 10% like me who do, because they are so much more fun.
