Actually amazed at how bad MR itemization is...

I find it amazing how everyone complains how ADC's are mostly irrelevant in the current meta, how mages are much better due to having decent damage over time, burst, utility, CC and good itemization (not questioning that) and that ADCs must be buffed to not become irrelevant.

The only buff the game (and every character) needs are more and better Magic Resist items, not even more damage when damage is already out of control.

When mages don't even really have to buy penetration until late game and even when they do, that penetration ignores total MR anyway, you know something's wrong with the game.

Wha... what? What game are you playing?

Mages are literally the strongest class in the game, just because "mages" (i dont think they were nerfed as a whole at all) got nerfed once therefore they are in a good place?

And Locket (a MR item) got nerfed so mages got nerfed somehow?

What? I... facepalm

Humm hello? Did you even read what I wrote in my original post?

I'm saying that MR SHOULD BE BUFFED.

SV is pretty damn core on most tanks, but other than that yeah. Banshees rarely sees use outside of competitive, last I checked.

For adcs theres item 3156 item 3139

But they dont really want to make those, because they need as, crit, and %armor pen, usually

There isn't anything they can make for ad threats, like zed

Not even mentioning the damage dip, even with those, ADCs still blow up like ballons.

Sometimes the ADC doesnt need the QQS active (say VS a Syndra) and with both items mages easily attain enough damage to blow the squishy anyway, especially once they have a Rabbadon's item 3089 or a Void Staff item 3135 .

And the flat pen on their items somehow doesn't follow the same rules as lethality. I mean, assassins are gimped until 18 to get the full value of their items, mages buy boots or Haunting Guise and are already getting the full value, especially when you consider that most character's MR doesn't scale.

Banshee's item 3102 is bad because it pops with literally anything (seriously, Luden's Echo item 3285 can pop it, how stupid is that) and is extremely unreliable. Hell, I've started using Edge of Night item 3814 due to how much more reliable it is, despite the lower stats.

The point is, in the game's current state, HP is THE anti-AP stat, not MR. That's why many high rank ADCs use Sterak's Gauge item 3053 still, the shield is almost guaranteed to proc and might just save their life. Or if their character has decent AP scalling in some abilities, they buy Zhonia's item 3157 ffs. Magic Resist items are only good in characters with high HP, so in every other character they are subpar unless they have something else attached to them (AS in Wit's Enditem 3091 ; MR reduction in Abyssal Sceptreitem 3001 )

I forgot about the others you mentioned, but yeah there isn't much they can make.

Im just saying theres nothing to make vs ad threats

Also, I love how people simply downvote without adding anything.

Just "Uh, I disagree with this, downvote, done"

Its the best in the game except bruiser. There are a ton of ways to get MR big and small. You can get MR with AD, MR with hp, MR with CDR, MR with tenacity. Spell shields, cleanses. MR runes are great too.

But MR without Health is almost useless, and we only have two big HP+MR items at the moment.

For high magic resist + health: item 3102 item 3065 For dual resistances: item 3512 item 3190 (item 3060 not often bought, but still gives decent MR and the active can fuck most mages) If you want some AD with it: item 3156(<- as a mage main myself, I hate this item)item 3139item 3814 Same with AP: item 3001 If you're a heavy basic-attacker: item 3091 If you're support: item 3222 item 3174

The problems: Banshee's Veil is popped by literally anything that's not AA.

Spirit's Visage is good but has low-ish MR.

Dual resistances aren't good unless you have health to back it up, most ADCs have below 2000 health.

Maw of Malmortius is good but is cooldown gated, Mercurial is not good unless you want the cleanse.

Yes, Edge of Night is decent because you dictate when you want the barrier, but has low MR and should be bought mostly by assassins, being bought by ADCs is actually what Riot doesn't want.

AP items are usually paired with utility, with the MR being a bonus

Wit's End is bad unless you are tanky since requires ramp up and does nothing to prevent burst (it is by design, but that makes it weak for ADC who can't survive burst)

Supports aren't the problem, the problem is ADC becoming obsolete.

I mean, cmon guys, even Riot has admited that MR itemization is bad.

If a Mage kills an ADC he's doing his job. ADCs still do their job aswell, as being squishy but high sustained damage dealers. Like, a mage has one job, and that is killing the adc or the other mage, whichever is more important.

What about if a mage kills anything because their damage is ridiculous? Is it still "just doing it's job"? What if the ADC can't "do it's job" because literally anyone can duel it until +40 mins in? What if the games are so skewed against adcs that only early game ones can do anything?

Stop having an overly simplistic view of the game.
