The game now officially has too much CC
Before, in the far times of Seasons 1, 2, 3 we had stuns, sure. But now almost EVERY SINGLE FUCKING CHAMPION MADE has CC in it's kit. And not just any CC, knock ups/displacement, which are irreducible by Tenacity.
Old champions were valued when they had knock-ups because it was so rare and valuable, especially useful in supports. Nowadays pretty much any champion made has knock-ups in their kit, both reducing their value in older champions (look at Malphite, pretty much reduced into nothingness because his R is almost as bland as a basic ability) and honestly wiping out the value of Tenacity from the face of the game.
And it doesn't help that patches back they even REDUCED the value of that tenacity.
This is pretty much the sole reason why champions like Zac, Maokai and even Sejuani are so damn obnoxious: they not only have a bajillion stuns in their kit, % damage but they also have easy access to knock-ups as well.
Sreiously Riot, fix your damn ways and stop adding knock-ups to every champion you make. At this rate, I expect nothing less than having a new champion with %HP as true damage anytime soon.
EDIT: Since many are asking how else we can fight mobility:
- Stuns still work as intended, they are just reducible for tankier champions who make the choice to buy Merc Treads
- The "Grounding" effect of Cassiopeia's W (and now Singed's W) still exists, Riot could easily apply the Grounding effect in more AoE "pool" abilities, fighting mobility without punishing (or breaking with buffs) champions with no mobility.
At this point Knock-ups/displacements are the True Damage of CC, or rather even worse since they are literally impossible to itemize against and Riot have been too liberal with it in recent champions.
