The finalized ARAM changes are depressing after waiting this long.
All I've ever wanted for ARAM was something to deal a real blow to ARAM only accounts. Finally we get bans. We get nerfs. Some way more heavy handed than others like holy crap zyra got bodied I got hit for 32 damage off of a plant. No longer am I seeing the same 3-4 champions every game. Even dodges dropped because you didn't have to go Oh we don't have the S tiers so they are 100% on the enemy team. Sitting through more than 5-8 dodges a Queue just to play essentially the same game of poke comp was stupid now we are going right back to that. For the first time in years I managed to have 3 games in a row and not have varus, velkoz, sona, or ziggs be in the game. I'm being really specific on that because out of every champion on ARAM accounts those were the ones that were in every game regardless of time of day. There are 2 premades of multiple aram only accounts that I have to face a lot and well even these games arent as cancer anymore.
These recent changes have been a breath of fresh air. Even when the old powerhouses get through they are far more bearable because it's not 4 to 5 of them. I finally had someone play udyr. I've seen more varied comps in this small time than I have in years of ARAM comps even aram only accounts that normally have the same exact picks had to branch out a little due to bans.
Tbh backtrack seemed awesome from both a ranged and melee perspective it had so many applications. Apparently backtrack could nullify urgot ult which is not ideal. Anyway the warmogs change imo was kinda pointless due to how warmogs is used. It's just slower. Ghostwalkers still looks pointless since we can see you but I saw what you could do with them on Malphite and well yeah it's kind of good. Feels like riot should pull the pin and make it actually stealth you otherwise there is no real surprise.
In all it feels like riot took multiple steps forward then just decided to undo most of it to go back to the things that weren't good. Outside of tin foil hat aram accounts use RP to buy their champs I can't imagine how we arrived at this point.
A part of me feels like just hanging up league since this is the last thing I have that made the game somewhat playable and hope came followed by being ripped away.
