well to be fair it's a decaying shield that only last long enough for a taric to get his ult off

That's the one lucky thing about the combo. Still, it'd easily protect your entire team from the brunt of a MF or Katarina ult. They share a 90 second CD as well so they'd be comboed together pretty easily.
