As someone that has played the new urgot a lot

What the hell is his counterplay? He seems to be able to deal with every single champion in the game. He's like golden age darius 2.0 - the only way to deal with him is to gank him repeatedly before level 6, and even then you can only delay him at best.

My main issue with him is his ult. I can dodge most of his abilities. See him fire a knee, stay that side, that knee's spent and is useless for a bit. But in the stream the Riot guys did about runes, they mentioned one of the runes they had early on was a "If an enemy is below 15% health, if you auto them they die." Which they quickly scrapped as it means that you would consider your health 15% less than it always is. It's the same case with Urgot, in my view, and his ult but at 25% HP, basically being 40% health in lane with him at 6? You might as well not fight him because he can just remove you from the lane even though at 25%HP nearly all top laners are still useful in a fight. Knowing you can't do that and having to leave isn't a nice feeling.

at level 6, Lux will remove at least 60% of your hp if you get caught with one Q, why is this a big deal with Urgot having a 25% execute?

She has to land that Q, I can hide behind minions and she has to have mana enough to ult also after. Urgot just ults, if I'm low health, below 25%, I'm dead with a press of a button anywhere on the map.

Imagine late game, a 6khp Cho who is still usefull at 1500 hp, gets ulted and he's removed from the map. A late game cho with 1500 hp won't die from a Lux ult.

Oh and the Braum thing, a 100% health Braum saving a ulted team mate will die from it. If I'm Braum, I'm sorry but I'm letting you die. I'm more useful at 100% health.

When I play him my only real problems are Jax and Shen, because they negate a lot of my W. But yeah I can see your point XD (But I feel like his late game just isn't enough for a 'free win'.

Once people learn to play against him I don't think he'll be much a problem. When people actually do try and evade the shotgun knees I find myself not auto winning lane anymore. He still has a pretty opressive laning phase though, but there is counterplay.

My problem playing against him is that you have to choose to either dodge his passive or attack him. Meaning he can freely attack you all the while you spend your time walking around. It's like a reverse Fiora, except you can actually deal damage to Fiora.

Range. Even with his Buffed Q if he can't land it he can't get in and shot the fuck up of people, also his S H O T G U N K N E E S (Dammit bricky) have high CD but if he gets passed Lv. 10, don't get close to him unless you can stop him to moving around you. Urgot is a bit of a feast or famine champ. If he doesn't get a head, he is boned if someone can dodge his Q and ult.

He's one of the clunkiest champs in the game, which is sad. Old Urgot had bad animations, but his combo with the lock-on was pretty fluid. Now, his Q is awful and his E is completely abysmal. His W and passive, and how they work together, is his only saving grace. His W may attach the self-slow on to it to balance, but being SLOW isn't bad. Being CLUNKY is. The awkward pause before he Es? The awkward pause as he misses his E even though your character models clearly collided? That's one of the worst feelings in the game. Clunky play is NOT okay.

I think you might not have caught his most recent changes. His Q is now really reliable and satisfying, and the E does no longer mini-stun him after use. Try him, he was buffed this patch!

It was desperately needed, if true. Thank you, I'll take a look. Still, the loss of Sterak's Gage is a shame.

If it doesn't hurt your item build and are having a rough time, consider buying a QSS. This removes his ult from you as you can remove his suppression effect. Not a great strategy all the time I know but some food for thought.
