Seriously this makes him feel so clunky as his intended design of an assassin. It works fine as tankko but as ekko you aren't able to proc you passive quick enough to do any real burst. If assassin ekko is to EVER be viable this has to happen. make it so when the Q expans into the slow field it comes he can call it back to himself. Or at the very least make it return fast the thing takes forever to get back and it makes it hard as can be to hit and stay on the carry.

ludens and lich bane ,w behind enemy -e towards - q - autoattack ( lich bane proc ) ,two more autos and the guys dead ,if not the q comes back and kills him.I find its quite easy to burst people with this combo or even just the e-q without having to land the w ,the damage on hes r is huge,also hes zhonyas and -r combo gives alot of outplay opportunities and multi kill opportunitites ( lol im just a noob but ive played " alot " of ekko and this is just my experience,no flame pls)
