I hate to be the one to point this out, but ranged is only to strong because every time there is a melee champion capable of dealing with them (Riven, Yasuo, Renekton, Jax, Akali.. etc.) The community moans and complains about these champions. As such the ranged champions begin to take over. So, in essences melee is to weak now not ranged is to strong.

they do function? their salty mains complain because they're not allowed to abuse the overpowered champion anymore.
Assassins don't get nerfed because they kill ADCs. They get nerfed because of how they affect everyone else.
