Riot, can I suggest just one TINY change to IE to help out crit users?

Just swap out a BF sword in the recipe to a pickaxe+longsword. Increase the combine cost of IE by 75g to keep it the same price.

That way crit users aren't completely screwed if they want some earlier AD, and are forced to back before they have 1300g.

It's not a massive change, it just helps them out a little bit more if they're not dominating lane enough to get a BF sword in their first back or three.

With Deathcap I can see why two Needlessly Large Rods are used. It's a very powerful item, and can spike your damage in a very serious way. Being forced to back without having the gold to buy part of it is part of the risk of building the item.

IE's recipe says it fills a similar role, but IE does not have a comparable level of strength to Deathcap. Having an easier to work toward recipe like you're suggesting would be a great change.

Yep.

Deathcap interacts with itself.

IE is 3600 for 80 AD. Combined with the build path, it makes the item terrible to build

Rushing Deathcap is as bad as rushing IE They literaly have identical buildpaths

Either both are terrible to build or none is

I very much prefer current rab and Ie buildpaths more then in any other iterations we had before

The build path alone isn’t the problem.

It’s the fact that IE is entirely useless aside from 80 AD. As I said, Deathcap interacts with its own passive, meaning that on top of the stats you pay for, it gives you even more. Automatically. Without any other items or spent gold.

If IE had the same kind of passive as Deathcap, where it give you bonus AD based on how much AD you had, it would be a completely different matter entirely.

Horrible logic

Perhaps BF shouldnt be at 1300 gold if you people are struggling to get 1300 gold

**BUT WE FOR SURE SHOULD NEVER EVER AGAIN HAVE TO WASTE 3 FKING ITEM SLOTS FOR A LATEGAME ITEMS WHICH COST 3500 GOLD + **

AND IE HARDOUTSPIKES RABADON BUT WHATEVER

IE, in it's current state, does not out spike Deathcap.

And both of these items make for solid mid game items. They shouldn't be rushed, but they are not build finishing items either.

Both rabadon and IE whenever they build out of 3 items choke stuff like control wards out of inventories

I dont wonna back with 1250 gold and be forced to buy a FKING BLASTING WAND and have no space for remaining items THATS EVEN WORSE THEN NOT HAVING 1250 GOLD

What we can do is reduce a general power of IE and rabadon along with their cost. There is a thing called building multiple items at once I dont want IE/Rab to ever choke that again.

They make for a solid mid game items true. They also make for a solid lategame items

How is having 40 AP in a slot worse than having 0 AP in a slot?

How is having 20 AD in a slot worse than having 0 AD in a slot?

Rabadon's and IE are also entirely different items. The only similarities is their cost, build path, and the fact that it's pseudo self-multiplying.

However, AD champions - ADCs in particular - often need to build parts of an item first. They simply need more types of stats, and only a single item offers all of those stats at once (item 3153), but that one item doesn't even offer crit. This means the average ADC, especially before the changes, would go item 3086>AD component>Zeal item>IE or whatever. That's the build path they want. It gives AS to help farm, then AD to actually hit with any force at all, then lets you finish items. That's standard build, and is pretty necessary to be relevant in lane.

Mages, on the other hand, only need 2-3 stats: CDR, mana, and AP. All of their core stats are on any of the three mana items. This means the only time a mage ever has to split their build is if they need early defenses, and that's given through a fairly smooth build that still gives AP.

If an ADC is building crit, their first four items are 2 Zeal items, Bezerker's, and IE, in some order. Three of those give AS, and only one gives AD. This means if they don't get enough gold for a BF sword - maybe just because it's just a more aggressive lane - which should be expected with Draven and MF being two of the strongest ADCs right now, and it actually has nothing to do with their skill - they don't get any AD outside of runes and their item 1055. This means they hit like the noodles of Riot's code, and their oppressive opponent just stays further and further ahead because they just take no damage from the ADC.

Simply changing one of the BF swords to a pickaxe+longsword means you have an option for earlier AD if you're going crit.

How is having 40 ap in a slot not annoying when you can have 60 ap in a slot. IT was very annoying Dont you see the reverse issue

Not to mention Nothing is stoping you from grabbing a Codex or anything else until you reach your NLR for rabadon. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUILD 1 ITEM AT ONCE IDK WHY IS LOW ELO STUCK AT THIS MENTALLITY WHERE THEY DONT SPEND GOLD AND SAVE..

I mean you really dont have to explain the league to me and thats quite a lot of similarities

I understand your concern that AD carries cant afford AD except for stuff like double doran without 1300 gold That does make sense but this is not an issue in high elo

Reggardles Both Botrk and BT have been buffed and build out of longswords so there you go. Nothing is stoping you from getting AD

We had IE building off Pickaxe BF + Cloak for years... That was horrible you would ussualy only get 2/3 items and then sit till you reach entire price of third + the price to fuse em BECAUSE YOU LACKED SPACE

Having longsword in cloak space only makes it more avkward

No item should build out of 3 items unless its a RUSH ITEM

Trinity is rush item so its fine Regablade is a rush item so its fine

Both Rabadon and IE design scream NOT A RUSH ITEM

Riot should also change Voidstaff To blasting wand + blasting wand

That moment when you back with 1100 gold want voidstaff but can only get amp tome or completly screw your buildpath. Blue elixir is built a shit ton in high elo because AP itemization and its buildpaths is garbage as it is not because its A strong fking elixir

They should also change Banshee or whatever the fk its called nowdays to negatron instead of mantle

Cheap items like mantle, cloth, long sword, and tome Shouldnt build into full items they should build into components which build into full items

But what do I KNOW I ONLY HAVE 4X AS Much games as everyone in this thread together + been to challenger multiple times

I wish while they were at it that they'd take 5% crit off the zeal items and either lower the cost or compensate the 5% loss in stats somewhere else in the item so they can leave the price unchanged. It would feel less bad to get 100% crit because you wouldn't be actively wasting 1k gold in stats.

There's an issue in this idea. Guess who would get the most help from this change? It wouldn't be an annoying adc who hardscales out of control after getting 2 crit items and IE. It would be Yasuo . Because Yasuo is the only champion in the game outright encouraged to get IE second item (after boots obviously). Every other one needs 2 crit items to best take advantage of the two passives, but Yasuo build path is item 3046 ->item 3031 every single game. This change will give Yas a bit more laning power and let him travel back and forth between fountain and lane more often.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

I doubt it would be a massive help for him, especially in mid, but he could be slightly nerfed if this helped him too much.

Wacky91 votes

It would help him top. Probably not mid though.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

I could see it helping a little bit top, but, again, not a massive amount.

It shouldn't buff any champion by more than a fraction of a percent, though, it'd just be a change so it doesn't feel as shitty if you're not able to drop 1300g.
