I mean, LoL doesn't need summoner spells and runes/masteries/whatever to be played. Why not rely simply on our champion's kit? The meta would, I imagine, shift pretty damn hard. But we'd bring player skill back, at least to a certain degree. No free escapes/engages/shields/whatever. And no free stats.

most of this game is simply knowledge of the game. dumbing down the mechanics wont change that. making the knowledge more easily available though would definitely flesh out the skill potential of the playerbase.

I would add 6 a decent IQ (for macro/micro decisions).
But I agree the answer to a lot of the problems they have tried to fix (by dumbing down game and cutting the learning curve) could easily be addressed by better education. I have thought about some sort of boot camp or required testing, at least for ranked.
Although my first idea was an IQ test for ranked, sorely needed as well.

Because currently the game is balanced around having those in game. Removing flash for example would only snowball the game worse since your removing an escape requiring a reset.
