How To Play Aggro Correctly?

I hear playing Aggro is the best way to rank up in League (Im in Gold). I main top lane, and I usually just do a few trades, farm, back, repeat. When I try playing aggro, I usually just get ganked nonstop by the enemy jungler. I also lose trades as well, how can you play top lane effectively?

If you have suggestion for top lane aggro, that would be even better.

Know your matchup and ward. Don't try going all in on champs who take advantage of it. Thin out your opponents minion wave before trading then make them fight you with your own minions dealing extra damage.

For jayce in-particular as a range champ you can just abuse that for easy harass, if you're pushed up thats easy picking for junglers so try to put wards in tri bush and/or river bush and even go for deeper wards, try near scuttle or towards their buff (red or blue depending on the team). seeing those ganks early are beneficial when shoving lane. Another good thing is to keep you acceleration gate for either finishing a kill or saving it to escape, try not to use all willy-nilly.

I will let you in on the super secret next step in playing top lane.

Don't just ward, ward at times the specific junglers you are playing against will gank. Or you can also manipulate waves to have them freeze in safe positions at common gank times.

Example: Jayce vs kennen top with olaf jungle (meta match up). You know olaf will start blue buff side so that means if he goes gromp>buff>buff> top that will be a 3-330 gank (full clear would be about a minute longer). So if you shove hard level one you can get the second minion wave into kennens tower. This will cause the third wave with a cannon will start pushing into your side at 245ish due to the bounce effect. This means you are safe to ward and chill in the 2nd bush in exp range miss 1-3 minions, but you are 100% ungankable and you can freeze the wave since kennen sucks at pushing. This makes him an easy gank target and you are again 100% safe as long as you freeze well.
