@Meddler: Regarding the HEAT mechanic - If autoattacks generated HEAT...

Ebonmaw, the Terror of Zaun

In my continuing work on a HEAT-user, I'm trying to look for ways to make the above Champion Concept differ more from Rumble. Rumble's HEAT builds up by 20 every time he uses a basic skill, which has proven to be perfectly balanced at the moment. But since my concept, Ebonmaw, is meant to be a much more auto-attack reliant Champion, I feel that having only his basic skills generate HEAT is a bit unsuitable.

I wish to try changing up Ebonmaw's HEAT generation so that he builds 10 HEAT every time he uses a basic ability, and 2-3 HEAT on every basic attack he makes. I don't know, however, if these numbers are good, or if the idea of HEAT generating on basic attacks is either flawed or becomes too similar to Fury.

Can I get an opinion from you, please?

Stop and think for a moment: Outside of flavor reasons, why do you want to use Heat? Rumble doesn't have Heat just because he's in a mech: He, as a champion, is designed and balanced around his high spammability countered by his self-silencing. If you have a champion who generates Heat on autoattacks, why is that? What purpose does it serve? How does that reinforce the core concept of "Keep it in the Yellow, not the Red."

Good point. I guess HEAT generating on autoattacks would make it super-hard to control.

Part of why I picked HEAT as the resource is due to what Ebonaw is: He's a dragon who got cyberized by Zaunite scientists.

Giving him Fury would have him become just another Shyvana.
