I'm genuinely sorry for Xerath mains

Malicious Metal··136 votes·8,299 views

Their champion carries this stigma that he's only played by scripters and the moment they do well themselves the entirety of the enemy team is going to spam "report" in all chat.

Seriously, this is just sad.

Yeah, feels bad right now, but in 2-3 weeks they'll forget about it and go back to calling me a scripter for landing every ultimate shot as they run in a straight line.

Otherworldz6 votes

You realize it's like 0.01% of all xerath players scripting right?

How do you come to the conclusion that he now has "stigma?"

Malicious Metal73 votes

A few bad apples spoil the bunch. And Xerath has always been THE Scripter champion, just take a look at Korea SoloQ

I'd argue Kog is up there as a "scripter" champ as well

Machine Gun Kog'maw yes. Scripters were the only ones who could orb walk during his W without losing out on DPS.

Like the reworked w kog'maw? its actually possible to orb walk with that shit wtf how funny does that look LOL

Zyrot4 votes

Not as hard as it looks, it is just that league player, professional or otherwise, are not use to it and the type of kiting you have to do with that attack speed.

It looks as though Kog was sliding around on the ground his body constantly flipping directions between movement and firing. It was a bit depressing to see him be unreworked after spending 2ish hours in customs trying to orbwalk. Eventually went with an easy method of kiting by binding attack and attack move to a/s

there was a youtube video explaining how to orbwalk with a 5.0 AS kog'maw, it just requires a really convenient hotkey setup.

TheMinez2 votes

Yea, with it I was canceling every other auto at 3.0 AS, with that problem being fixed for my kiting at around 3.50 + AS

Damn I miss playing that in the jungle from patches 5.22 - 6.19

Existence VIP3 votes

same, i kinda liked the other kog with 5.0 attack speed... it made him feel special and not like the other adcs

Existence VIP1 votes

i mean you still get 3 shotted by vayne in about half the time

Bodkins Odds1 votes

Actually, you just needed to have a convenient hotkey for attack move click and move click. Then you just alternate the hotkeys rapidly and, bam, 5.0 AS orb walking.

ChaoticPinecone1 votes

5.0 AS is 5 attacks per seconds. Even if you hotkey an attackmove-click (which there isnt one in the game) and move-click, youre talking about inputing 10 commands every second from 2 fingers. Then you have to time it so you arent cutting off the important animations in the attack - youre basically saying you need to input 10 commands every second, and each command has to be in specific .1second intervals with no variance.

I really dont think thats possible.

junglerboy162 votes

that's one input per finger every 0.2 seconds, well within human function. Once you practiced and reached a correct rhythm it became comparatively easy.

Bodkins Odds1 votes

You can hotkey "attack-move-click" but you have to manually edit your settings file to do it.

It happens when you can kite with Kog or consistently land his ult with AP Kog. It's kinda funny to see although a bit depressing.

Paquay1 votes

I'm genuinely curious as to why Xerath is the "go-to" champ for scripting. I'm a new player so haven't seen a bunch of past exploits and scripts, but what is it about Xerath's coding that makes him easily abusable?

Sohleks2 votes

It's his design I guess. He has good range and damage. His abilities are more up to the player to land than for the opponents to dodge so with extreme computer like precision he's very tough to play against. That's because his Q has no travel time but is just thin enough to be fair when normal people play him.

When people say scripter they are usually referring to what is like computer assistance playing their champion with extremely inhuman mechanical accuracy and reaction time dodging abilities the instant the game registers them and landing all abilities and kiting with mechanics better than korean challengers. That's why the other more known scripter champions are things like Cassio or Vayne, but that's just because it becomes very obvious then. They may script other champions too to less effectiveness but less obvious...

Scripters usually are lacking in the macro game though.

This particular issue is a bug and a script. If Xerath uses his Q a certain way on the map it'll glitch out and hit everything but it requires using it in a way that's not humanly possible to reproduce. Or so I've heard.

CudyDarkyz5 votes

All of his skills are skillshots and he has no mobility spells so a aimbot scrip and a dodge scrip removes almost all counter play to him because of how fast his spells go off that and he has scripts for spell comcos here he can cast all his spell in half second or something. Its hard to dodge them when every single one is perfectly Aimed/Timed.

He is picked more then other skillshot mages because his skillshots are near instant compared to others like lux's, vel'coz's and zigg's travel time.

Just from stuff i looked at on Xerath's page he gets 1300 base damage just from his ult "if he lands all 5 shots but scripts" so his damage is really high.

Paquay1 votes

Thanks for all the info. So basically, similar scripts would work for most all other champions but due to travel time or whatnot, aren't nearly as effective since they can still be dodged or reacted to? What a huge bummer for Xerath players.

Zenthon Prime2 votes

Yeah, it's a real shame, because otherwise Xerath is one of the most skill-dependent champions in the game. His power directly scales with your skillshot accuracy. In some respects an actual Xerath main can be scarier than a scripter because scripts can't snipe you from fog of war.

This bug has nothing to do with Xerath's kit, though. Anivia had a similar bug a while ago iirc.

CudyDarkyz1 votes

Pretty much, You can dodge a scripted Lux q, but you have to predict that Xerath will predict your predict.

There's a lot of Xerath scripters. It's not exactly rare. If enemy pick Xerath I usually dodge.

I go to the xerath mains discord and they actually take being called a scripter as a compliment

Glory973 votes

It's part of the game to learn ignoring all the players who blame their team, riot, god, their not existing laggs and the enemy scripters for their loose. I also play xerath occasionally and i was also accused for scripting once or twice but i felt rather proud when they said i was scripting, although i wasn't scripting.

Sniperkaj5 votes

To be fair, if an enemy Xerath can hit u every 5 seconds from the fountain, the loss would not be your fault, and the complaints would be justified :)

Glory973 votes

True, but thats not the issue we talk about. It's the stigma that "every xerath player = scripter", and this isn't fair to all the people who play xerath but don't use any scripts

Why would it matter to you if someone else is silver or diamond?

ChaoticPinecone2 votes

He never said it did. Climb is a relative term. Some people need to climb out of Bronze. Some people need to climb out of Diamond.

rtbf2256182412 votes

Isn't the script very easily identifiable by the global Q thing?

Ralanr1 votes

So wait, is it not a bug?

Sahn Uzal11 votes

It's an Exploit, but there also is a script involved. You can find some more stuff about it if you look for it.

Malicious Metal22 votes

Yes and No.

It is a bug that only works on a particular spot in your base, having to charge Q for a certain amount. And there's a script that allows you to do that consistently.

Fairyfleur6 votes

If it was only a bug, Riot would've disabled him.

dim2a1 votes

When I play Xerath if someone accuses me of scripting I take it as a compliment. Riot is very unlikely to punish people who do not actually use the script, so as a Xerath player I don't see what the problem is.

P.S. I am not quite Xerath "main", but he is my strongest midlaner, so I play him quite a bit when climbing.
