Rabadon's change will just make people buy it even less

5% increase in ability power and costing 200 less gold is nice, but the issue is the build path

Old Build Path: item 1026 +item 1058 +item 1052 + 1265 Gold

New Build Path: item 1058 +item 1058 + 1100 Gold

Having to build TWO needlessly large rods is excessive, as you have to save up 1250 gold in order to even think of working towards building it, further cementing it as a VERY late game item, or an option when you are incredibly fed, making it even more worthless to mages

Proposed Change: item 1026 +item 1058 +item 1052 + 1065 Gold

This makes it easy to buy parts building up rabadons, while also befitting from the decreased cost of the item

Better for mid game and late with less slot wasted. The Rods do provide flat ap, so when your needing that in your build this path is better. Champs who need to rush it have its power delayed a bit, I'm ok with this.

It is about slots more than cost - building 3 items is silly, either you get the cheap ones and need to save up 2500g, or you get the big ones up front, which still requires late game.

The issue is that it is a late-game item which is typically purchased after most of your slots are fulled.

In many cases, you'd have to sit on a Needlessly Large Rod and Blasting Wand until you managed to save up ~1600 G.
