Malzahar has incredibly high mana costs and low range for his combo

I don't really get how Rito hasn't seen how easy it is to make Malzahar a great ap mid pick-up.

3 of his spells cost 100 mana + thats insane

I think after playing him a decent amount i get the feel im always just barely not in range in teamfights for using W E R

Sure his q has great range and is one of the few silences left.

But typically you makes Q last meaning his other spells are more important and q is just used as silence not poke.

So then you are essentially just in e and r range as w is more for pushing and combo

I know riot doesnt like point to click but with his q being a huge skillshot i think it's incredibly smart to reduce his mana costs to at least put him on par with all the mages. Especially with the mana regen nerfs.

I would highly prefer to increase his E R range just because it has so much potential. But right now its highly likely he wont even be able to use it without having to cancel his ult withing .5 seconds

But also is one of the best champs to 1v1, a full rotation can melt any target.

not true at all.

he can only ult squishys

Tanks or off tanks will just take the ult and W dmg and then insta gib him

He's not like vayne

False. Go to the wiki and check his damages and ratios; there is a reason they cost that much.

P.S. (He also has mana sustain in his kit.)

Malzahar's W does percentage max health damage. He can melt tanks quite well. Just E, W, and ult.

Actually, he's exactly like Vayne.

I've been playing the champion for 5 years, he's pretty much magic damage Vayne and has had equal effectiveness during that time.

Malzahar E is about as fun to deal with as the old Zilean bombs. Point and click drive-by damage with zero counterplay, you cant even cleanse it with item 3140 .

It already involves no risk or skill to use, and still does a ton of damage with it's high scaling, so yes it should have high cost and low range.

His mana costs are high because he has built in mana sustain, like Xerath . The idea being that in order to get all that mana, he has to push the lane, and make himself vulnerable. Its supposed to add some kind of risk to what is otherwise a low risk champ.

1_his high mana-costs are offset by his E. Sure you have to play conservatively early, but 3+ points in E with lasts hits reduces the cost of the spell to zero...possibly even negative. I believe the breakpoint is 6 minions or so.

2_his ratios are nuts

3_his spells are mostly DoT's. He needs low range to provide his opponents an opportunity to strike back. With higher range, he could just plop E and W from even further away, and just stay back out of harm's way.

He has natural mana sustain.

Malzahar is disgusting in 1 v 1's, and has plenty of aoe and ridiculous damage.

No fucking thank you.

Malzahar is fine.

He needs no buffs, or nerfs.

I only wish that I could still ignite while ulting as Malz. From my experience, throwing up the ignite cancels the ult. (Ult range is 100 units greater than ignite, but even when I am clearly in range, I still cant ignite...) Malz is pretty good in YoloQ though. Level six jg ganks = instant kill for Malz! ;)

You can still do this, I've done it plenty since I started playing Malzahar a few months back (even in games just this patch it still works); as long as using ignite wouldn't move you, you can do it without stopping your ult.

OT: Malzahar has high costs because if they were lower, he would literally never run out of mana (and its already hard to do if you actually know how to play Malzahar).

Anivia costs a HELL OF A LOT OF MANA for having little range and a slow Q skillshot... Don't complain about one champion without thinking about the rest.
