Cassiopeia helpless vs Velkoz 6+?

I can flash ult him to stop his but thats about it. His ult obviously does A LOT of damage if left alone and he's got twice my range. Thoughts or advice???

Finished game went bad. To put it simply, and exactly how it went with taliyah, by the time i was able to get in range of him ulting me id lost half my damn hp. He ulted me without any poke im guessing to see the damage or simply for the poke. Tbh it was pretty retarded in my opinion but I'm not exactly a fan of fighting velkoz unless I'm counterpicking him simply because of the range. Just my two scents, dodge, stay away from him and dont get ganked, or flash ult his ass.

Hope that your jungler isn't busy with another lane and ask for a gank or just don't play cass. VELKOZ is supposed to counter short ranged mages like cass, teemo, ryze, swain, etc so I can't really give you helpful advice sorry.

I feel like you did something wrong to have gotten to that point.

I kid you not. I was csing in lane, he got within my q's range, and ulted. I ulted back obviously.

I don't know man, Vel'Koz is pretty strong.

Vel'Koz is really difficult for champions who have to stand still to do their things. Cass needs to stop moving to cast all her abilities so Vel'Koz can easily E>W>R, even more so that her E range is shorter than his E (his knock up).

My suggestion would be to avoid fighting him until you see him use E, its CD is about a 15 second CD early game. Another suggestion would be to save your ult for his because he needs to look directly at you to use his ult on you. Dodging Q, obviously, but i know thats a lot easier said than done.

Pre6 Vel'Koz will try to land Q on you for an easy E>W follow up then run while on CD. If you do get hit by that combo just all in him since he blew all his CD, you'll have a 10~ second window. Post 6 Velkoz will likely follow up with ult so be prepared to counter ult him and follow up with your normal combos since he'll be on CD for about 10~ seconds.

To the OP, I agree. Not just on Cassiopeia, but basically most immobile mages vs Vel'Koz.

Why does he get to freely-overlap his spell casts while other mages cannot? That's what makes it so he can just delete half your health and so damn hard to close in on.

Agreed, just played that shit, same match up. Completely hopeless. His combo simply one shots me, and it's always up.
