Why do people look at past seasons with such rose tinted glasses?
Like holy shit, you would think there were no problems in Season 4/5/6.
The game is way more balanced now than it was back then, prove me wrong.

people look at almost everything with rose colored glasses honestly.
"the good ole days" have never been today.
Yeah I enjoy watching tanks and hyper carries in the lcs every game. U rite.
they complain about "lack of counterplay" and yet every fucking champ was point and click back then. don't bother reasoning with the forums. bunch of morons tbh.
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH. I been saying this. I honestly just think all these people who been playing for a while are just getting tired of the game because they've been playing it so long, not because of something Riot's doing. The circlejerking on this site has really gotten out of hand. But yes, I agree, this is a problem I've noticed. People tend to view everything in the past with rose-tinted glasses.. I heard some people say that prework Kat was better than rework Kat. What?! She was even more braindead and feast-or-famine then she is now, and had no real theme or direction.
pretty sure seasons 1-5 was regarded as the good seasons, then we got season 6 which was a bitter sweet season which season 7 followed with a bad season and so on.
season 6 ap yi came up, but then devourer as well
Probably because they're better than this season.
No one is saying that those seasons were flawless, they are just much better than the current season.
The comparison is to show how bad things are now, not how good things were back then.

You’re kidding right? S3-6 the only things that could one shot were high single target damage assassins such as leblanc, now if you build for it a majority of damage dealers can oneshot someone.
Back in s2-5 CC was an actual consideration for team comp, nowadays your whole team could random select and 99 times out of 100 you’ll have enough cc to chain cc at least two of the enemies to death in a team fight.
But yeah, more balanced than ever
wym i loved

Well... we could start proofing this statement first . dont you think so - lol. x'D
But anyway, I considered late Seaons5 meta absolutely awesome and close to prefect (before juggernauts steamroled everyone and everything and Fiora topk care of anyone who dared to stand up again) - not looking back with tinted classes - I did so WHILE playing in Season5.
So yeah - quite obvious case for me. ^^
For me personally, its because I really did enjoy season 5 more. I had the most fun during the burning tides event, but ever since then it seems like Riot either got cocky or lazy. The end of season 6 (imo) was alright, but some terrible decisions and lack of thinking ahead from Riot have hurt game play quality. I'll admit that from what I've seen about mid season so far, it's looking pretty good on paper(again imo).
For the same reason people think the prequels are actually good now that the nu-trilogy is out. Its called nostalgia. Objectivity is destroyed when past experiences are tinted with good memories of "the better days". I was 12 years old when RotS came out and life was easy and good so of course the prequels were good films!
The average person is too dumb to realize that when they were playing League S3 they didn't have 3000 hours of game burnout influencing their thought process. The game was something new and exciting and times were easier with less responsibilities. Therefore it was "a better game".
