So when is Riot going to deal with Teleport? (Idea inside)

TP is basically mandatory at this point. If you don't take it, you will get behind in lane because your opponent can back and buy/heal and be back in lane instantly. Or they can get a free gank on your bot lane and get ahead that way. They also get to take an early jungle camp/double jungle and TP top for xp advantage plus 5 pots. It makes top lane stale. If you don't take it, you're actually handicapped. There's little kill pressure without ignite, and even if you take ignite for the kill, you may end up losing xp/gold wise still because the enemy will just TP back while you have to walk all the way back.

Even mid laners are starting to take TP, that's how good it is.

So a solution?

Make TP go on CD for 25 seconds any time you recall. Make this decrease by 1 second every minute, so that by 25 minutes, when teamfights are in full effect, TP is back to its full function.

This is so TP can't be used for a free jungle camp advantage. Also so you can't just use it to freely get back to lane. This way if you force your opponent to back, you can actually get an advantage off it, like you should. It also lets TP keep its function of global presence, so as long as you don't back, you can still TP bot for a kill. That's how TP should be used, not as a free 'get back to lane' card.

Thoughts?

No its not. If you lose midlane against my pick, tp will not help you win it back. The run-way is short, and I will still have a combat summoners that you don't.

Yeah...because every toplaner can do that, right (no, they can't). Plus, unless the champ is actually leashed, he arrives at the same time I kill the first melee minion of his 2nd wave, aka. we are bang even in levels, and I am ahead in gold.

It makes top lane stale.

You know what makes it REALLY stale? Two guys who are a mile away from everything that matters during laning phase (botlane, Dragon, botlane jungle halves), and remain there until the 20 minute mark, unless you are Shen.

I actually agree. Teleport has been seeing a lot more play lately thanks to how vital it is for juggernauts to get into fights and to take objectives or countering split pushing. I'm seeing Mid and Junglers taking it as well, since it provides some heavy gank potential and can be very useful for setting up traps for your opponents. For many champions up top, teleport is there almost strictly to make sure they can immedialty get back to their lane to prevent split pushing or to buy items. You better hope you have it when fighting a champion like nasus, because late game if you don't keep him busy, he'll just stack up and plow through top.

The major problem is not teleport itself, but the meta around it changing. Juggernauts are now a huge threat, and their mobility becomes less of a problem when teleport is used to jump them either nearby or right into teamfights, or to hop right back into lane to prevent their opponent from getting any chance to push or roam. It negates some of the major early game struggles Juggernauts should have.

I do like the idea of that passive cooldown at fountain for teleport, but I feel like there could be a simpler way to keep teleport from becoming too heavy in the meta at this point. It's bad enough that flash is nearly every champion's go-to spell, we don't want another one added in to make everything else irrelevant.

Only concern would be homeguard TP.

say you are hecarim, now you can't recall and tp with homeguards without waiting an additional ~18 seconds if you rushed them.

I think we need to bring more Summoner's up to level of TP/Flash/Ignite/Heal/Smite/Exhaust, not try to diminish those six.

Heal is basically mandatory on ADC's, exhaust on Supports, Smite on Junglers, and TP on top laners. Those things will not change unless you make a different option better. Mid lane... No one cares what you pick mid lane as long as it's not a 3rd rate spell.
