Hecarim nerf? rito plz

I'm just going to say up front that I'm a lowly silver peasant and I'm only qqing because Hecarim is one of my mains.

My complaint is this

Hecarim's anti unit collision is no longer passive and is now an active on his E.

My question is, why? Especially in the preseason where the unit collision is bad.

My understanding is this: Hecarim needs to be able to ignore unit collision to LANE. Top lane Hecarim is the earlygame bully that later becomes the tank come lategame. The way to bully as Hecarim is to walk up to the enemy, Q, and walk to your minions because his Q doesn't draw minion aggro (and you pop W to sustain in extended trades). Using E isn't an option unless you are setting up a gank or going to finish them off. Trying to use E to bully will cause hec to go oom very quickly and forcing him to back.

Normally this would be okay, IF homeguards wasn't already removed.

I'm not sure if anyone else realized this, but Hecarim (lane) lost a LOT of his early game power with the removal of homeguards. Rushing tier 3 boots was so great on him because it allowed him to:

-Homeguard tp-gank a lane (even your own lane, hehe)

-Be able to return to lane quickly because Hecarim REALLY struggles when laning against someone who is sitting under their tower and freezing the lane. It was more efficient to just push and back so the lane would often reset by the time Hec returned

-The early tier 2 boots gave him very useful durability and extra attack damage but there is no point in rushing tier 2 with Hec unless you were building to homeguard

So without Homeguards or the ability to smoothly walk through minions to harass, what's left of him? Where's the compensation? Is jungle his only option now? I thought the goal was diversity.

I'm not one to just go and complain because my favorite champ is getting nerfed, I'm all for a healthier game. Why was this change needed? Did Hecarim lack counterplay as far as laning goes? If someone can explain to me why Hecarim was toxic before and how this will make him healthier then I will understand, but right now, I don't.

Was it because you're scared people would start using him because of the new skin? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
