please change KogMaw passive to literally anything
his passive, in no way, interacts with the rest of his abilities and itemization

I hate the on death passives. Why would they put passives that basically say:
"Sorry you got outplayed, it might not hurt that bad if you can do something with your garbage passive!"
I hate them because the glass cannon mage flashes into and kills your whole team and you cant do anything about it because he wants to die xd
Karthus passive is a better version of Kog'Maw passive. I know they're played differently but Karthus goes 1 for 1 (or more) many more times than Kog'Maw. I honestly think exploding and doing little true damage is detrimental to ADC play style and Kog'Maw himself
Well yeah, Karthus I would actually agree might be the single champ that is actually okay with it. But the other two(?)
I feel like are pretty bad.

Zyra too.
They got rid of the one on Zyra.

Wait she doesn't have that old trash passive anymore? To think I've been trying to juke it everytime she dies nowadays...
Even on Sion it makes some sense. As a tank you are probably gonna be diving into the enemy team a lot so dying isn't out of the question. The problem with this passive is that you are super easily kited when you get in it but that's another story. With Kog'maw you are an ADC so if you die you've literally failed. Why have an ability that rewards death when death is something you want to avoid at all costs?
An ADC should never die, lol, I agree.

I was thinking that he should perhaps have a passive that interacts with whole 'always hungry' theme.
It seems to me that a lot of champions have a passive that has nothing to do with their other abilities. It is just a tacked on bonus.
Shield based on his current mana
Gains mana and health when killing things
Ghost and less damage from basic attacks
Health regen
Tenacity
Percent health physical damage on a cooldown
Ghosted and takes reduced magic damage
Spell vamp
Life steal
Attack speed with low health
Health from mana - this one is getting changed next patch
Mana on kills
Health from enemies around him dying
Enemies he damages do 15% less damage
Heals when he has low health
Armor and magic resist for having enemy champions around
Reduces 1 enemy's armor by 15% on hit
None of them are ADCs expect Urgot and look at his state. Not that I'm saying non marksman shouldn't deserve better passive but most of those passives are defensive.
Kassadin is an anti mages: mages deal magic damage and most are countered hard by mobility. Wukongs is a lore thing, he was born from a runestone (if that lore even exists anymore). Olaf is a viking with beserker tendencies, a lot of times berserkers get some kind of buff from taking a lot of damage in other games.
All of those passives are more useful than Kog'maw's passive. His is probably the only passive in the game that you actively want to avoid.

Revive passives aren't damage on death passives. These passives let you play far more aggressively than you normally could because you have that safety net. They are useful because you come out ALIVE from a fight
tf u talking about? Volibears love going for aggresive duels and coming out ALIVE thanks to his passive
Karthus's entire game plan revolves around his passive. Since his kit is built with his passve in mind, it is fine as is. Kog'maw's is just tacked on because they couldn't come up with anything.
Generally as a tank, you want to make aggressive plays and dives. You also want to sacrifice yourself to save the carries that you need to be protecting. Because of this suicidal tendency of tanks, I would say that this passive is semi-justified as it gives Sion incentive to go for more aggressive plays even if he ends up dying, since that's when he does the most damage (in theory. He get's kited too damn hard in his passive form). Of course, some Sion players will dispute this with me, but I still feel like this is justified. The difference between this passive and Kog'maw's is that Sion wants to be in the middle of fights and cc people, where he'll often not come out alive and that's fine, he still did his job. Kog'maw wants to play absolutely safe and never, EVER wants this passive to trigger. Therefore the passive is completely pointless.
He can't have more damage nor can he have more defense, clearly, but what if his passive was some sort of power shift? Maybe instead, his passive can trigger something like a mild damage loss to trade for a momentary boost in mobility. Think of the new Gargoyle's Stoneplate
active, or something along those lines. Adding a small mobility burst on a keystone (looking at Warlord's and Stormraiders) did not break the game, so changing one single champion's passive to something more interactive and dynamic would probably also not break the game. It doesn't even have to be mobility. Maybe to keep in tune with his theme, he moves slightly faster towards the corpses of enemy champions, and when he clicks on them while next to them, he gains a small amount of health back, somewhat similar to Jinx's passive movement speed, but he wouldn't be able to attack during this either, hindering his ability to output damage. It would just be nice to have something small but at least usable for the game. I understand why his current passive hasn't been touched, but just because it would be tricky to make something better doesn't mean it should be ignored.
i agree it dont interacts with the rest of his abilities or items
however the fact that if someone focus you that hard to kill you and by the time they do you have them either dead or so low that when your passive activates from your death the true damage it does can make you go even in the trade going 1 for 1 basically and the fact that he can do that from death... with him being a hyper carry like he is gives him an advantage if he properly uses it to kill someone knowing he can kill them even if he dies cuz he still gets gold and goes even and not falling behind
your argument can apply to any champion. let's just give amumu or Urgot Kog'Maws passive. What I'm saying is that Kog'Maw shouldn't need to go 1 for 1, his passive doesn't need to provide that for him. There are other ways to make him a hyper carry.
Would rather them give him a new E.. His E in my opinion is useless 90% of the time.
E needs to scale so with anything besides AP. They also need to have an interaction between his E and Q/R so it's not just a "press E to do some dmg lol" ability
Why do you dislike the silly passive so much. Anything practical you give him is gonna actually weigh on his power budget.
He might as well not have a passive in that case.
then just change his E to compensate for his power budget. his E is the reason why AP kog'maw has been nerfed several patches ago and is useles on AD kog'maw
It's probably to discourage people from jumping on him, he's the most vulnerable ADC, no mobility or hard cc. He does need a new one but it does serve a purpose, even if it's not a good one.
Next patch: Icathian Surprise now heals scaling with lethality instead of dealing damage
