What is it with this matchmaking?

So when I play non-promo games, I win some, I lose some. But at least I get normal team comps. I don't tilt if my mid Katarina feeds. If my opponents win, hats off to them.

But once I get to my promos, it's like the game intentionally matches me up with 10 year old kids locked up in a mental asylum. I get Aatrox mids, Cait tops, Varus tops and Veigar junglers. It's like a 180 turn, like they intentionally match me with Bronze 5 players. I'm far from being a high level player, and I don't claim to be any better than my current rank. But all I want is a fair fight, two evenly matched teams. But when I get a troll team picked against a team of low elo murderers like Yasuo, Zed and Blitz, like, is it really fair matchmaking? Just give me some fair matchmaking. If I win, great. If I lose, hats off to my opponents. I'm facing a choice between a one-click promo loss, or 30+minutes of helplessly looking at my teammates feed. As much as I hate those 2 choices, I'm not gonna waste my energy in trying to carry my Veigar jungler, or my top who picked Cait against a Jax top. I rarely dodge, but when I get these kinds of trolls, why should I torment myself for 30+ minutes and in the process make my MMR sink like the titanic and get pulled into elo hell through no fault of my own?

Why does the matchmaking do a sudden 180 turn? Why does the game want you to be the second coming of Faker in order to rank up?

This is Flex queue I'm talking about mind you. Otherwise, I haven't had such problems in Solo queue. Yet.

I've been having stuff like this happen every since I hit gold, I've not been able to break 40lp afterwards. I just lost 6 games in a row due to people who lack all basic understanding of how to play the game. I had a jungler who did not take smite, a ragey support who did nothing but ping every single mistake made on the map, a "diamond smurf" who went full baby rage because the game did not pan out as your typical diamond level match would.

I'm a support main who has struggled to get even as far as I have and now it's like the game does not want me to go any further. My MMR has to be so tanked by now that it's making me want to give up all together. My next loss could demote me and then I lost all the hard work of getting to gold. The matchmaking is god awful at this level and there is not an ounce of consistency.

I'm no god tier player either but I do what I'm supposed to as far as warding, item build paths, and I'm not to shabby on the mechanics. I just don't understand how some of these people I'm matched with get into the same game as me.
