RIOT Is there a single good reason why allied minions block you?

Hey Riot, I understand that enemy minions blocking someone makes thematic and strategic sense. They are, after all, enemy minions. However, is there any good reason why allied minions should block champions? You are the boss. They should either get out of the way or be trodden underfoot. Pets shouldn't kill their masters, and lane minions shouldn't help the enemy catch you or keep you from catching the enemy. It is maddening. If I run into a big allied minion wave with WW chasing after me, I should breath a sigh of relief at reinforcements to block my enemy, not curse my bum luck of having allies around.
