Any tips for akali?

There aren't much akali guides and tips on the internet. Since only voyboy plays her in prof. society.

I am planning to play her at top lane, don't know why but akali on mid feels kinda weak to me. if she roams well and get some kills she becomes great threat , in fact anyone who gets free kills and snowball is a big threat. But on the top lane, her sustain is kinda usefull I guess. Most of tanky champs can not handle her. And she can easily gank mid and get kills with 3 stacks ulti.

But what you guys suggest? Tank akali still works? Hextech then full tank? Or ap akali is more viable now? What runes? 9x mpen 3x ap 9x armor 9x mresist? or hybrid pen marks, or ad marks?

When she should start playing agressive? Q deals 0 dmg until you blow the mark but its a good skill to harrass enemy. If they want to fight since you spam q nonstop you just blow the mark and go to safe place? What is the general strategy? She can still be usefull if she falls little behind?

I like to play Akali building hybrid runes and trying to build gunblade first, even if I am playing the tanky build. I find AP Akali more fun to play after using both builds, and build Gunblade, boots, sheen, Zhonya's or Abyssal. If you are playing a team full of squishy champions, you might want to build mejai's early because you can snowball easily. I actually have been enjoying jungle akali now where I start with Hunter's talisman and clear krugs, raptors, red buff and then recall as Runic Echoes is pretty good on her. Then grab machete and just farm till you hit 6. Upgrade smite and then start building gunblade before you finish Runic Echoes. When you hit 6, your ganks become almost automatic kills.

The most common trick with Akali is to mark with your Q and wait a couple of seconds before engaging as it will shorten the cooldown for your next mark. I prefer not to attack champions with my e as it wastes energy and time that I need for either using the ult or procing the mark with an auto-attack. When tower diving a champ, make sure you have some enemy minions hanging out just outside the tower to dash back to. You can use your w to give you vision of camps, dragon, baron, etc. so don't be afraid to use it as a ward of sorts. Once it gives you vision you can also dash to targets within it. You can also use it as CC as the enemy is slowed once entering it as well as it speeding you up.

Laning is rough for Akali. She is generally regarded as the worst pre-6 laner in the game. Don't be afraid to miss CS as the most important thing is to get to level 6 quickly so you don't want to die or have to recall and waste time. If the enemy is within melee range your q + auto damage will take a big chunk off them but shroud right after because you are pretty useless without an active proc early on. Roam often after level 6.

Thanks for answering. Yeah I know that Q-AA-Q-AA trick. The reason why I like akali actually from what I have seen , no matter how she behind is, if she catch a squishy alone, she kills it without any problems. Which means, she has high sustain and burst dmg. And her theme is kinda cool.

I don't know where am I doing wrong man, akali players I see and me are different. I don't think I will ever play good with her. I only played well with tank build. I think im kinda tank person.

If your playstyle fits a tanky build than that's probably what you should stick with. I personally like blowing squishy champs up quickly and getting out fast but luckily there are 2 viable ways to play her. You are right that you can be 0-5 and be getting crushed in lane but you are just one roaming gank from getting a double kill and turning into a monster. Most Akali games I have played this month I start off 0-3 or 0-3 and end up 12-6 or so.
