Can we make hextech key shards available for IP

It's a rather common complaint that once players have bought all the champions and runes they need, there's nothing good to spend IP on outside of the name changes. And if you look at hextech crafting, it's actually the chests that are limited to 1 per 6 days, so making the key shards available for IP wouldn't really affect the amount of chests you can open without paying RP. Since key shards are unlimited in how many you can get, can we just put them on sale for 1000 IP or something? It allows those of us with a large amount of IP saved to get a jump start on all the chests we got faster than key shards.

It'd be cool if you could buy 1 box per month for 10k IP or something.

I don't think that would ever happen, Riot wouldn't sell key shards for IP. I'd actually rather have them allow us to be able to buy Essences for IP. Since if you are a free player, it would take way way to long for you to gather enough essence to unlock your skin shards you get from the free chests, especially if you get an ultimate skin shard.

I actually like this idea even more. You'll eventually catch up on key shards in time. I get about 1 key shard a day so I'm opening around 2 chests for each chests I get. But essence is something that would allow me to unlock each skin shard I get instead of having to decide which to destroy in order to unlock the rest.
