How can players be the same rank but one be 10 times worse?

I think that's the most frustrating part of this game. You have your ranks, you have your mmr... but at the end of the day it only does so much. So many games are decided because somehow players who are the same rank, same mmr, hell even close to same number of games played... but one or two are way worse than the others. And you get the worse players a lot more often when you duo. I get it.. duoing supposed to be an advantage. But instead of being paired verse another duo you basically destroy a teams chances of winning just because you put some miraculously 10 times more terrible players on the duos team.

I get that I am bad at this game compared to high elo players.... that's fine. But how can it be harder to win for me playing in almost a tier lower elo with a silver friend than it is just playing solo in gold? My last game I did my best to carry.... at least early. I kind of got distracted later in the game. But our top AND mid were so outclassed it became a waste of time. I mean hell I did 9k more damage than my buddy who was adc and almost 15k more damage than our mid Yasuo & 10k more than our top Fiora ........ It's just so disheartening even trying.

I will admit I did get distracted late game as a few buddies jumped into discord and I was talking to them. I would try to keep my buddy Sivir alive but the enemy was ruthless. Of course our top & mid did nothing so essentially it was a 3v5 with Taric attempting to help. But fuck man.... if my teammates are silver w/e and that bad then how the hell is the enemy not that bad? LIke... they were bad and I see why they the rank they are but I honestly assumed both our top & mid were bronze 5 that's how much worse they were.

Shit gets so annoying I hardly even play with my buddies anymore because when we do even though my actual elo is higher than what this account says (gold 4 so not a ton) its so damn hard to win that I feel like me being on my friends team is actually handicapping them. It might sound like an exaggeration but I have seen some of the worst League players I have ever seen this year duoing with silver 4/5 friends.

In the end me & Sivir should have been able to carry. He was 2-0 with a nice CS lead not really sure what happened. Maybe if I didn't get distracted. But still... it gets to a point of how does enemy top Jayce know his combos, enemy mid Orianna knows how to put a ball on Hecarim and use ult... while our top & mid both are clueless........ yet they same rank. This inconsistency in games really makes me sick of this game and why I don't play it that much anymore.

Our Yasuo didn't know he could ult off my barrels or body slam...... like WTF. He literally died once because I ulted for him so he could use his ult to kill his attacker and instead Yasuo tried to duel him with autos and died. I was speechless. At least I got lots of shutdown gold.....

Part of the game is just to accept that sometimes people, who are not seasoned professionals but simply hobbyists of the game, have bad games. Sometimes they're just facing a match up they struggle with, sometimes you just wiff a combo and puts you behind and in a death spiral for the rest of the game. Shit happens, which this is part of the climb. If you so choose to climb, you have to accept that you're going to have remained composed and play well and find ways to get your team to play better too in a match.

If you go to ranked Solo on my profile, the second game down as Amumu where I had a Twitch adc and a Taliyah mid. That Twitch was the key to us winning the game, and I knew that so, but he was struggling super hard with the Malphite support who would just ult him every fight. But I didn't rage at him, like the Taliyah, I just tried to guide him and encourage him and get him back into the game. Now, you're not going to be able to do that all the time, sometimes games are just gonna go south and the hill is going to be too steep. But it's to say, that once Twitch got his item 3026 he could survive teamfights and we were able to turn the game around and win.
