Why Promotion Games Are Cancer.

-they cause distress in player mentality -they are more likely to cause a rage induced fit -they serve no purpose other than to make you have to have an exceptional win-rate over a short period of time -they bring out trolls when you mention them -having afk's that are irritating to begin with cause you to be forced to play multiple games just to RE-Enter them then they repeat the cycle.

this is the list i currently have thought of, anyone who hates promo games, for whatever reason, share your reason, if there is enough reasons maybe rito will finally abolish this barbaric practice.

This sounds more like PMS than cancer.

They mainly obscure the ELO system- LP would be fine if it was simply a flat amount of LP for a win and same amount for a loss - it can still be divided up into 5, 100 LP divisions for each medal tier- but for this way elo does not get obscured and you can see consistent gains and losses for wins/losses respectively for your LP without the promotion series and you drop and rise between divisions and tier by a simple win and loss

First two are your mistake.

-they serve no purpose other than to make you have to have an exceptional win-rate over a short period of time

I think >50% isn't quite exceptional, if it is you certainly don't deserve the promotion.

-they bring out trolls when you mention them

Then don't? If you already noticed mentioning them is counterproductive, still doing it would be nothing other than dumb.

-having afk's that are irritating to begin with cause you to be forced to play multiple games just to RE-Enter them then they repeat the cycle.

Don't think promotion games have more AFKs than any other game.

With what as replacement? Fluid elo with no tiers? Have fun needing only 1 loss to drop below 1500 mark again when you barely reached it. Anyone who ever laddered on Pokemon Showdown knows how that feels.

Over 5 games the winrates you can have are these: 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%. 60% is exceptional if you are talking over a large number of games and 40% is pretty low but for 5 games it's literally one game with a different outcome. That kinda makes the winrate pretty meaningless tbh. It simply represents the idea of having a winrate that's higher than 50% that you need to climb.

I feel like whenever promos come around you the game decides to screw you and either pair you up with feeders, trolls, or idiots costing you the promos. I feel like it wants to see if you can carry heavy weight before you can advance.

you should never mention that you are in them.
