What happened to supports, an explanation.

Okay long time ago the mata found a new golden champion called Karma. This support could not only provide normal support utility but also damage. This has lead to supports for going common low damage high utility biulds in favor of just more damage. Champions like Zilean Zyra Sona Syndra have all but reinforced this damage support meta. Unfortunately many mid players have discovered that you can play a full mage "support" and have a much shorter wait time. In fact there is this really cool item called item 3303 that makes it so you don't even have to farm. You just do what ever you want and you get gold. This has also lead to the decline of the item 2049 items as they do not fit in the "full damage" build. And after all you can always just buy item 2043 and use your item 3340 so your not losing out on vision right?

I have seen this problem creep its way up all the way to gold so I know this is not just some passing fad. As a support main I have dedicated myself to learning the hows and whys of what makes a good support. What I am seeing slowly make its way up the ELO is not good supports. Vision has become a very binary line item for a team. Either your team knows how or doesn't. One or two players per team can no longer cover all the possible problems that come with the new dragons, rift herald, and red and blue buffs.

The new damage support meta is fine. But it needs to be put back in the hands of those wise enough to understand what it means to play a support and the sacrifices that entails.

I STILL go braum/tank supports as even though it is the squishy meta, you can skillfully turn it around in late game team fights from your cc an tank. Braun might not be able to kill like zyra or sona (?) but he can save the adc and peel very well for his team.

don't forget all the nerfs that the actual supports champs keep getting while the pseudo ones get buffs. Mainly looking at Brand here as a prime example.

Thats sounding about right..... i always hate having a team that doesnt help me ward.... but i try to ward in some key locations that give the best vision that we are needing at that time.... sometimes it is just not enough. That is with a sightstone and farseeing orb. Teams do not help ward and then blame supports for no vision, so if people are going to complain anyways, may as well make their complaint a more viable one right? I still always try to get sightstone first back though.... with a vision ward.

I let others use red trinket. Whenever i try to i never find wards and end up just wasting time with it xD
