Brand doesn't even need nerfs

I've been playing this champ on and off since s3 and I tell you - now is probably the worst time to nerf him. Trust me. Nerf the keystone he is OP with, not the entire champion.

Is it the stun you're concerned about? He has to hit you with a different ability first and have you burning in order for him to stun you. If he does hit you with a burn, just get behind a minion until the burn passive stops! Just creep block his Q. If you're chasing him, be mindful of his cooldowns and don't "YOLO$WAG HES DONE 4 BALLS DEEP" him just because he got caught out, if you really want to chase him dont be an idiot, just strafe away from his Q.

Is it his raw damage? This has literally been unchanged for pretty much ever.

Is it the items? His items were nerfed, cost increased and stat reduced.

Is it the masteries? Yes. Nerf the mastery. But don't nerf the whole champ.

Just because you're bronze and don't understand how a champion works and how fighting him works with your specific champion, doesn't mean he's OP. It is literally the same case with Yasuo and Illaoi.

You want to piss off a Brand main? Just play Zed or Kennen

Implying you've been scrutinizing his winrates over the years, huehuehuehue. How often do you see a Brand really? And how many noob brands have you seen?

I've seen less than a handful of noob Brand players.

Win rate too high, or just mained a lot? As i thought!

Posting a board about a champion not needing a nerf just opens the floodgates to people that think he should be nerfed.

I do agree Brand takes combinations of spells to be efficient and people demanding nerfs are the same people salty that they chased him and got W'd or E'd then Q'd and either die to the passive or got all inned right there. Brand can be countered. People who cry about Brand aren't rushing Hexdrinkers or Merc Treads or Banshee's Veil. MR beats Brand. Blocking his stun with minion waves beats Brand. Ganking the entirely immobile Mage who needs you to be standing still as well beats Brand.

If you chronically lose to Brand learn to play the game. He's just has a resurgence in popularity due to the new mastery synergising with his kit very well. The Mage changes are coming allegedly. So hold on tight and Riot might give you cry babies a pacifier.

Sweet, a level headed and unbiased opinion for once on these forums.

No. Nerf the abuser, not the mastery.

The mastery is more effective on Brand than other mages. If you nerf the mastery, it will still be more effective on Brand than other mages, but now you've nerfed a bunch of mages that didn't need to be nerfed.

Nerf brand, not the mastery.

So did you think it was a coincidence, that nobody has complained about Brand until now, preseason 6 when mage items received another fat nerf?

Does that really make sense? Brand has remained unchanged and his build path pretty much got nerfed. The only thing that stands out as a power spike is clearly the new masteries.

Do me, I have a 57% winrate and a handful more games then that player. Brand is balanced and takes more situational awareness then other high damage burst mage that dominate mid lane. As you can see my death rate is mediocre and shows that thought he is immobile he's not a walking dead man even with flash down. Also poor choice of Champs to counter brand with. Zed can be shut down with zohnyas and LB is a joke counter for brand. For some reason mimic hates that brand ult. She needs to be just under 50% hp to proc it and die.

"(area of effect and damage over time abilities apply half of this damage over 1.5 seconds instead)." quoted from the mastery description.

It seems to be a riot policy to nerf both the champion as well as the item/mastery which makes said champion super strong.

I do have to admit though the nerfs on the PBE aren't that big of a deal, it's a mana cost increase towards the later ranks of Pillar of Flame. At max rank all you have to do is last hit 5 creeps to make up the difference when you have a single Doran's ring. Most mid laners pick up a second one early on in the laning phase to help even more with mana issues.

The mastery is a bit overtuned on some champions, but in general isn't that bad, so I actually hold the exact opposite view as you. If it's problematic on 3 champions, better to nerf the champions than the mastery and screw over the 10 other champions that it was actually a balanced choice on.
