Can Malphite actually snowball and carry a team during all stage of the game?

Never ever in my life have I ever seen a Malphite carry a game. I feel like he has too much power focused on 1 ability (hello there ultimate), and outside of that, he's just a Very big chunk of rock potato sucking up damages (If you don't play with AP of course) and not doing too much without his ultimate.

Even if a Malphite would go 0-10 in a game, a single well put ultimate can literally win the game. The same would go for a Malphite that goes 10-0 and misses his ultimate, it loses the game.

That's just my opinion, but is there any Malphite mains here who plays him religiously every game that can prove me wrong ??
