I need to vent about shit going down in Bronze and the game

  • Veigar support is a HORRIBLE pick. I don't care how good you are. Veigar RELIES ON FARM. NO FARM = NO STACKS = NO VEIGAR.

  • I should never as a jungler have 3x the CS of my mid laner or ADC, and this happens all of the fucking time. It drives me crazy. I had 4.5x the farm on midlaner last game. 4 TIMES the farm. None of my teammates understand why this is important and ripped me for split pushing.

  • I should never be 3-6 levels above my teammates, and this happens constantly. Higher level = more powerful. I'm not getting kills because I'm OP, I'm doing it because I'm 2-3 levels higher and have a lot more gold to buy shit through farming.

  • YOU ARE IN BRONZE. YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO BREAK THE META. Your favorite streams know how to fucking play, that's why they can get away with stupid shit. You are in Bronze. There's 50+ junglers, 30+ supports, 15-20 ADC's. PICK ONE OF THEM. I'd rather lose with normal picks 100x over than lose with non-sensical picks.

  • When the team calls BARON, GO BARON. I'd much rather lose the game off of a failed baron attempt with the whole team than a failed baron attempt with 2-3 people.

  • The damage is just bullshit. I lost a 1v1 Shyvana vs Caitlin. I had a 150 cs lead on her but she hit me with a 2k 2hit combo with a headshot and a basic. HP and Armor don't mean shit.

  • It really sucks to be a non-ranged champion right now. I honest to god fear a Lux, Veigar or an ADC more than any other champ in the game. The game is now mostly Ranged champs and Assassins, because the Assassins can still catch the ADC's and get away too fast for tanks to touch them.

  • Premades have a super advantage. Not only can they coordinate picks, not only do they have mics and not only do they usually have a smurf, the #1 advantage is that they know their premade is not going to AFK or Troll. I have an 80% chance of a troll, the premade has a 0%-40% chance. Do not discount how important this is, and I never see anyone talk about it.

Veigar doesn't rely on farm anymore. He can easily get stacks by hitting 2 champs over and over again with his spells. He can easily scale his AP while building support items, which works wonders for keeping the support deadly and relevant to the team.

Don't forget his Stun gets him stacks. Takedowns get him even MORE stacks.

Try Veig as a support and Veig as a midlaner then. See who is stronger. I'm going to have an extra 200 Damage with Veig Mid.

You're not looking at this right. A Veigar support isn't supposed to be deleting people the entire game. He's supposed to be landing stuns and poking lane opponents to help his ADC get kills. The difference between him and other supports is that his free AP gain keeps him relevant as the game progresses without having to invest a lot into AP items like other poke supports.

He is definitely supposed to be poking and caging enemies to somehow lead to something. The problem is, all of his attacks are weaker without farm. And Veigar is already a squishy with limited range.

He doesn't offer any of the blocking of a Braum, the shields of Karma/Lux/Morg, the tankiness/knockups/heals of Alistar or the initiate of a Leona. He's basically a worse Soraka.

That's because he is a poke support. They poke. He also has a gigantic zoning tool and team stun that can peel and easily set up kills much better than some of your aforementioned champions. He peels better than Morgana, Lux, Soraka, and Sona, and he can safely peel the entire enemy team, unlike Braum, Thresh, Leona, and Nautilus. You clearly do not understand how supporting works if you think peel and damage mitigation are the only jobs of a support.

There is nothing he does that someone else doesn't do better or offer more with, aside from the width of his cage.

He pokes a lot better than most poke supports and with a larger range. He has more damage spells at his disposal, and his stun isn't reliant on his other spells like Brand/Annie. His cage is immensely valuable in lane, and the set ups it allows are vastly superior to some of the other supports. You seem to just want to hate Veigar support for the sake of hating it.

There's no one that I know or have heard of that has made Veigar support work at a serious level and I don't feel he does anything better than anyone else.

That's like your opinion man. A poorly built opinion, but your opinion nonetheless.

Show me some people who have made it into the higher ranks with Veigar support.

An EUW player named Deleant mains Veigar support and is plat 1

I believe he's in gold. Which isn't pro-play, but it isn't bronze either (not talking shit, just saying he's clearly somewhat successful). Na.op.gg you can look up yourself, if you care to.

His cage is a large part of what makes up his unique contribution: because it can't be dashed through, unless you're facing an Ezreal, Sivir, or a Morgana support anyone caught within the cage is forced to take whatever poke you and your laner decide to land on them or risk even more damage by getting stunned on an edge. He can also use his cage to both facilitate and deter ganks. He's rewarded with increased power for doing exactly what he's supposed to do in the first place (poke the enemy team), which allows him to scale into a meaningful damage threat while building full support items, basically making his late game the best of both worlds between an AP mage support and a classical AP support. He also has an execute skill for bot lane fights that does decent damage even without much AP, which can win close fights by itself.

Is Veigar the best support in the world? No. But there's quite a bit of merit to playing him as a support, since he can scale well on a support's budget and provides some nice utility to his team.

Also, your comparing him to Soraka is stupid, they have pretty much nothing in common.

Great Muta1 votes

Both Veig and Soraka have Stuns and poke, just Soraka has heals instead of damage.

VoidStaresBack4 votes

Soraka has no stun, and her poke is one the worst out of poke supports. If you're referring to her equinox, which is a silence -> snare, it's used a lot differently than event horizon.

Great Muta1 votes

Whatever you'd like to call it, it accomplishes the same thing.

VoidStaresBack3 votes

Does it though?

Event Horizon is primarily an offensive tool, used to set up targets for Veigar and his allies. While it can be used defensively, its cast delay and the fact that it can be flashed over make it suboptimal for this role unless you're able to predict the enemy properly.

Meanwhile, Soraka's equinox is primarily a reactive tool that can also be utilized for predictive zone control. It's playmaking ability is very low, since any champion who isn't otherwise CC'd can simply walk out of it before it activates, and using it to make plays requires careful setup and usually an ADC who packs some CC. Generally, you don't cast Soraka's equinox for the snare, you cast it for the silence and the threat of the snare to keep enemies out of its area.

While they can, in theory, accomplish similar things, they are very different in their usage and execution.

there's a thing called a kill lane though... this happens with Zyra, Annie and Brand as well. It's not like those are bad supports since they don't have shield/heal, their strength lies somewhere else and you should try to take advantage of it.

Void Nargacuga2 votes

Farm doesn't directly relate to getting stacks of "Phenomenal Evil Power" it only becomes AP when he gets a last hit with Baleful Strike on a minion or monster.

Just hitting his opponents constantly with any of his spells will net him AP, getting a kill or assist will grant him even more AP.

your complaining that bronze players are not very good. just think about that for a second. their in bronze for a reason. cause they are terrible at this game.

if your out CS and out Level them every game, then start playing carry champions and get out of bronze

UberAffe1 votes

To be fair the range from terrible to average player is bronze 5 - silver 3 so even if you are average you will still have to play with absolute shit. riot could fix this fairly easily by adding more low elo tiers. Pretty sure the lowest elo you can have is about 500, the average is around 1200 and the highest is about 3000. That means there is a lot of distinction between the skill of high elo and almost no distinction for people who are at or below the average.
