He is not even out yet and you already assume that he's going to be "busted"? Have some respect sir.

He's going to have a mechanic which is new, and probably one people won't like. He's going to kill basic attackers with their own attacks vs allies. (Probably alluding to the hooks going back to the leviathan who devoured him)

It's going to pretty much be the opposite of Kalista: The more she stacks the more her E Rends. Pyke's going to kill opponents the more they stack.

I'm willing to wager the major damage mechanic is going to be tied to an ally, so not strong as a solo laner (they are selling him as a support).

I'm willing to wager some part of his kit is sustain for himself, given he's Undead.

And then there's the swimming Knife... which probably procs some mark which works in tandem with his hook ability.

So what I'm thinking is:

Passive: Some healing ability 3 Skills:

Knife Hooks Passive/Active stacking marks on opponents who attack nearby allies Ult: Leviathan Devours, and does additional damage to marked targets.

Other possibilities: Movement skill which allows him to Travel to his Knife.

Just theory crafting here.

Weren't a good percentage of the most recent ones under performing when they were release? Kaisa had a shit win rate. Ornn wasn't performing well. I wasn't playing but looking at Kayn's history... he received a lot of buffs in the two patches following his release (indicating to me he was not OP). Now, yes Zoe did well from the start, and Kaisa is strong as hell now. However, Kaisa was doing poorly at the start. I think Ivern was one of the first champions to have like a 33% win rate, and that is when he was released. Far from the 'we all know X to be an axiom of the League universe'.

They don't underperform. A vast majority of players just don't know how to itemize them on their onset. Others learn on PBE and then implement that vs teams who have never faced them in the first couple weeks.

Kai Sa was a 20/1 champ week one among people who knew her. Ornn I hit Mastery 7 in 2 days with an average KDA of 6 (and I didn't play him top) Kayn was same as Kai Sa: 20/1 scores among people who pre-knew him.

The buffs are actually compensate for low elo play to get a teasing period of players interested in their kits, because the majority of players pick OP champs, not "well performing" champs.

Ivern is probably the only example that legitimately does poorly, and tbh, he's hard to gauge because he gets no play (I could probably pick him up tomorrow and go 10/2/20 with him).

_**Zoe was actually one of the ones who did poorly, btw. She had a 34-43% Win rate while the vast majority of players cried about her "1 shottiness." She actually never got above 50% until after her kit underwent its third nerf in 8.4, which transferred power from her Q to her W (She actually does better as a short range auto attacker than a long range artillery)

In fact, when monitoring her win rates...... they literally plummeted at all points where games were at normal lengths. She had a 43% max win rate from games 20 minutes to 35 minutes long. At 35+ Minutes, she went up to 48%, and 50 min + 52%.

In other words, she wasn't power spiking at all in realistic length games. She was annoying to whoever played mid, but she was easily killed by the rest of their team, because of how linear and predictive her kit is.**_

People just got their way in regards to her potential 1 hit.

Which makes me wonder why all the other 1 hits are left in game..... (LeeSin just 1 hit me on Udyr the other day... R > Q = Dead. No opportunity to even Bear stance him) MonkeyKing Vayne Veigar Vi Tryndamere Shaco Quinn MasterYi Khazix Kaisa Jhin Can all "1 hit" better than Zoe could (which in reality was her E, an auto attack with a sheen, and her Q hitting on R, not 1 skill)

an important thing to keep in mind is that players don't yet know how to play the champion when they first come out, which gives them bad looking winrates. That usually causes Riot to jump the gun with buffs

I do keep that in mind. However, is that a case of Riot releasing a busted champion or is it Riot overtuning a champion after people perform poorly? This post seems to be hinting that it is just another busted kit coming out with nothing but a 30 second trailer which seems premature.

For instance, Kai'Sa's kit will never be a great kit (an opinion I've heard imaqtpie say a bunch, and makes sense to me) unless her numbers are just overtuned. She doesn't have great mobility. She's short range with very limited mobility. Her damage is easily blocked or spread out. She can assassinate you of course, but if her numbers are pretty big. Zoe is probably the only champion recently that I'd considered busted in the kit. Everyone else kind of got just over tuned.

It is pretty funny how I said they would give Swain hair and remove his mask because Urgot/Singed alredy dominate the masked bald guy category, only for the new guy to be bald with a mask too.
