So I just realised how impactful this stat is.

There are some champion's who's Attack Animation Delay is so huge that it can be used against you as an advantage for the enemy who might have a lower Attack Animation Delay than you.

Imagine a case where you or the enemy is about to land a basic attack which would result in one of each other's deaths, but the chances were un-even because of this.

Imagine you were Mordekaiser (with a 1.04 second attack delay) vs Renekton (with a 0.94 second attack delay)

Who do you think would be killed first? It's rather obvious is it not?

Examples of Attack Animation Delay

Annie Annie (1.08 second delay)

Ziggs Ziggs (0.9527 second delay)

The differences may not feel that big when looking at numbers or the video itself but trust me after a while of playing an X champion you will notice how impactful something simple as this can be.

Also if you manage to play both videos at the same time you will notice how Ziggs Attack Animation Delay is lower.

##So my question for you Rioters, would you ever consider giving majority of the champions an equal or a more relatively close Attack Animation Delay to make all Basic Attack Animations equally effective?

Because this is what I believe causes a common issue that is known by many players, cancelling an Auto Attack.

Frontswing delay is a good balancing lever. It should be different for each champ.

Look at Teemo. He actually has a long enough frontswing for melee champs to stand a chance laning against him (yes, contrary to what many top laners claim he's pretty fair). Compare that to shit like Jayce and Ryze. A lot of the reason they are such cancer in top lane is their insanely short frontswing times. IMO they need a nerf on this. Most ranged champs shouldn't have a short frontswing unless their kit is lacking in disengage/kiting.

I agree with this, and personally I think general clarity would be a good reason to standardize attack animation delay. There currently technically is a standard for most, but not all champion autoattacks, and I feel making autoattacks work on the same delays could help make gameplay feel a lot smoother across the board. I can understand that it's good to have players get the feel of a champion, but that should happen by familiarizing oneself with their unique kit, not with the minutiae of a hidden stat that subtly affects their last-hitting and attack-moving. Moreover, I strongly feel challenge and learning in League should come from interacting with others, not from fighting the game's under-the-hood systems, so I don't think the differences in auto animations are really worth it, relative to the far better increase in consistency that could be achieved from a solid autoattack animation standard.
