The new W probably does 20% the damage his old W did throughout the course of the game due to the removal of aoe, cooldown, and the fact it does NOTHING on it's own.

Attack speed? Oh yeah that is gone too.

Supporting Ezreal has become a grievance. The second I see ezreal picked, I start to sweat, knowing the impending pathetic trades where a fight breaks out at level 6 and ezreal can't proc W to save his life but landed it 3 times in the fight. Watching every other ADC, INCLUDING ASHE, outdamage him in straight up trades. Having his harass reduced completely to Q spam.

Having idiots use E offensively because it is the only reliable way to make W DO ANYTHING AT ALL.

This is a disaster!

It is a buff. He takes towers faster, he has way more burst damage.

It is just not enough to change his playstyle. He will still have to play like a pussy in lane.

I'm an aggressive support and I dislike ezreal too, but being able to just play like a bitch and not feed bot lane is fine too. I think bot lanes start playing like ezreals

Supporting Ezreal is basically a lane where I pretend my carry has disconnected and I have to carry the lane 2v1. His Q is where is power budget is at, and yet during the early game he only uses it to last hit minions. Because of that, it takes a LOT of poking to zone off the enemy's hook support. Poking that I have to do by myself because the enemy is hiding behind minions and Ez sure ain't going to blow his Arcane Shift for a trade when he needs it to escape the inevitable all-in against me, because nobody is dumb enough to waste their CC on an Ezreal.

With his playrate being high lately I have played a few games with an Ez that didn't go badly. I just had to learn to play very carefully and passively. He does end up doing half a health bar with his Q eventually, so you just have to not feed too much before that happens. Then catch 'em once and he'll go in if he lands his Q. I still take Spellthief's for the stats and because Coin telegraphs your moves to the enemy duo, making it easier to land their CC on you. I wouldn't take my carry's farm though, since tilt loses matches and also because my one-trick is still useful utility-wise even if she doesn't get her items. As long as my carry gets fed I can still be of use to him and the rest of the team.
