that'd require a lot more than the current buff because not every champion wants the same and some could want either or both depending on build and it'd all get quite confusing.

Adaptive automatically gives you whichever is better for you. The point of the nerf would be that you don't get both.

that's my point. there are a not too small pool of champions who can have alternative builds or work with either one, like kenen and TF with their ad builds or kog'maw who stacks both. it would be a lot of work and the end solution would be clunky and not as elegant as the current one. why change what's not broken? if it needs a nerf it can just take one in the form of "no base ad/ap increase" so you don't get the ap increase if you don't build ap otherwise and same with bonus ad.

If TF or Kennen builds Attack Damage Adaptive will give them more Attack Damage. That's how Adaptive works.

so then riot needs to implement an entire new system to see which build they're going and if TF took a cheeky guinsoos or not because you know they don't have a system to tell what build you want to go, they can barely tell what lane you want based on summoner spells. or hear me out. make the ad scale on bonus ad and it's the exact same thing because if you aren't building damage it's not gonna do anything anyway. the whole "gives both ap and ad" is both unremarkable and dumb because people have a 0 base ap anyway and the little ad ap champions are gonna get from it is pithy, maybe 100 in total by 2 dragons if they aren't anivia. it already does exactly what you're describing.

regardless. my main point is it already does that. if you don't build any ad the amount it gives is minimal to a farming aid, and if you don't build ap it doesn't give you any because 24% of 0 is still 0. your system wouldn't change anything.

Small nerf to hybrid champions
Tiny nerf to champions who get Ability Power from secondary sources (Support Items, Baron Buff, Natural Talent)

Seems like the perfect little nerf to bring Infernal Drake in line to me.

hybrid champions don't need more nerfs, man, jax and evelynn pretty much just stack one or build tank in order to be remotely useful in pro play. and what's the point in removing the 15 ad these people get, it's a meager compensation for 3 dragons in a row compared to the ap they may or may not get.
