K seriously though I'm not understanding the point of the assassin rework.

Fizz, Kat, Ekko, LB (pre revert), akali (not really), even rengar had their burst slowed down to a "reasonable" halt (honestly kat was fine). They had some sort of delay to their damage to give opponents time to actually react to their damage. Zed and talon basically just got better as time wen on and they can 100 - 0 you with a decent lead assuming you arent a tank pretty damn quickly. They got reworked too so what was the point???

When they added delay to their burst, the horrific strength of enchanter supports was brought further up. After enough complaining about being useless ( which honestly most of them were) riot decided to undo the delayed burst. However they followed it up with a sweeping enchanter support nerf so maybe it's time to add back delayed burst.

They didn't undo delayed burst. They've actually almost constantly reduced it. The instant burst for assassins was their crutch to make them viable with duskblade.

The compensation for enchanter strong shields was more dmg on assassins so they do more dmg (albeit generally not faster).

The only increased burst times were through reverts, but they never increased burst times.

The Kat rework is what grinds me the most and the fact the most people here say it is the only successful rework out of all the assassins the got reworked just makes it all the more a kick in the balls. Say what you want about old Kat being unhealthy and facerolly but the fact is old Kat was favorite champion of all time and new Kat simply doesn't do all same things old Kat did (instant cleanups).

This is why so many people are unhappy with League imo, Riot is mindlessly changing the to game towards whatever the majority of people or themselves think should be done while minorities in the playerbase are being shafted. Eventually everyone ends up being at odds with the majority sooner or later, and when that causes you to lose one of your favorite parts of the game, it's very tough pill to swallow. Long time existing parts of the game and their veteran playerbases should be respected, failing to do so will kill the game.

Well a lot of Kat mains enjoy the rework from what Ive seen. Meanwhile almost all Rengar LB Fizz mains dont like it.

Tho Talon was probably even more "successful"

I think a lot of kat mains tolerate the rework because it's not complete garbage, but would much prefer the old kat. I, for example, have 750k on kat and I only play her because I've been a kat one trick for years. I WISH i could play something else in this meta, but I actually suck at some other champs no matter how many times I play them, and I find others just way too boring.

I main Kat, too, try out Fiora. It's not the same concept but damn she was fun.

Somewhat unrelated, but I've tried Katarina out in some normals but always feed horribly because I expect her to do MUCH more damage than what I end up doing. I'll do a full combo with a QE AA W AA Ult ignite and most midlaners I go against will live with like 25% HP, what am I doing wrong there?

You said you QE AA W AA R ignite

You didn’t follow up with another E AA which you could’ve because if you picked up the daggers from passive then you should have been able to reset E and E again to chase unless you didn’t bother to pick up your daggers meaning you missed out on a lot of damage. Or you’re just behind OR your build sucks because somewhere in there you should’ve used Gunblade active

Duskblade is a main part of the problem, because in an Assassin Update that aimed at delaying the burst of assassins, the reworked Duskblade of Draktharr kind of short that whole idea in the foot by offering a lot of upfront burst. AP assassins continue to have relatively delayed burst, most of the time, but AD assassins can already output massive damage on their very first autoattack, which leads to them dealing too much damage too quickly and too reliably. I suspect reworking Duskblade once more to provide more back-loaded burst, or removing it entirely, could help the situation, though I also think some assassins like Zed and Talon have quite a bit of upfront burst in their kits too.

Change of a sake of change

Talon has to be one of the most brain-dead champ designs in the game though. He's so mechanically simple.

Remember the reason Leblanc got reverted ? It's because in order to burst someone down, she had to stay in range for 2seconds. In this meantime, a (pre-reworked item) crit adc could burst her down faster than she could. "Delaying assassin's damage" is a good idea if everyone else actually has delayed damage
