Season 7 and Lee can still flash during kick but I can't

Seems kinda bullshit tbh.

It's Season 7 and Lee Sin is still allowed to be jack of all trades, master of all.

Astôlfo9 votes

Eh, he's jack of all trades, master of none rather. How good he is in a game scales directly with the skill of the person playing him and inversely to the enemy team's skill.

THE RlVER KlNG38 votes

He's an oppressive early and mid-game ganker and invader with some of the best clears in the jungle roster, being both mobile and providing boatloads of utility. People always say he falls off but that's only when you're stupid and try to build him full AD - bruiser and off-tank Lee is just as potent late game due to his peel, engage, damage, and durability.

The whole concept of a champion who is good at everything in exchange for potentially falling off later is just stupid.

Astôlfo9 votes

People say he falls off later because the only thing he offers in said later game is his Q-W/Flash-R-Q combo basically.

And if he can't do that, he's worthless. And for him to do that, he literally has to fly right into the enemy team to get past them and flank and kick said squishy, unless he manages to successfully flank all the way around.

And if the enemy team doesn't just CC him mid-dash, they deserve to lose that teamfight. And ifi the enemy team didn't ward or have sufficient map awareness, they deserve to lose that teamfight.

He relies on snowballing in early by getting his laners ahead to make up for his useless behind past early game.

Malphite People say he falls off later because the only thing he offers in said later game is his R-E combo basically. Vi People say she falls off later because the only thing she offers in said later game is her ult that is easily negated. Irelia People say she falls off later because the only thing she offers in said later game is her dash resets and a conditional stun. Amumu People say he falls off later because the only thing he offers in said later game is his Q-R combo.

Same goes for a bunch of other Divers and Vanguards who don't have half the early game presence or clears that Lee Sin has. "Oh, he only offers an AoE slow +knockup with huge nuking power and mobility..." Lee Sin does fine lategame, especially since he's probably fed from how braindead his early game is.

Riot has always pandered to Lee Sin - so much so that they'll buff him for no reason just because he hasn't been played in the LCS. He's overloaded and is a perfect example of toxic design Riot likes to pretend they care about.

EDIT: This is sarcasm, in case you couldn't tell.

Sanctimonious15 votes

Since when does Amumu fall off? I remember him scaling stupidly hard with levels and items. Irelia falls off because her main source of damage is sheen procs and her W 75 True damage Vi is based around one shotting / taking a specific person out of a fight. If she can't do that, she's not picked. Malphite Is mostly high base damage. He falls off after a bit of Pen / lifesteal. He mostly sits on the ADC slowing attack speed.

When we're talking specifically about LeeSin , He goes from providing damage to Peel / Utility. Most of his kit functions pretty good with cleaver + jungle item -> Defensive itemization. As things scale, that little damage he builds becomes less important and the utility focus on his kit becomes more right and center.

Lee sin's most important part of the game is at his level 4, and 6 power spikes following into mid game. He's sort of like an elise, where you pick a lane and get them ahead so that they can snowball a lead. So, like elise, He turns into an Ult / Shield / Slow bot late game. (Elise was primarily picked for her stun and early pressure, late game becoming a stun bot.)

On the actual lee sin issue, i'm going to reserve judgements.

It was sarcasm.

I'm sure the people who downvoted you realized that by your great use of rhetoric and hyperbole.

and after half the team quick reacts his dash with cc the rest of his team roles in and beats ya down

Astôlfo3 votes

If your entire team only has one CC ability, that is your team's fault.

Baron of Bread1 votes

So he turns into a Tank/Assassin? Builds tanky and only needs to get next to the carry for less than a second and they die? Sure, he doesn't kill them himself but he does get them killed and might even survive since he can do that while being full tank with mobility. He even has similar map mobility to other assassins with his ward hop and naturally good move speed. If they do kill him then they probably had to burn a lot to kill him since he built tank, so now that a decent amount of cooldowns got blown to save the carry the rest of his team can engage.

Astôlfo3 votes

You're… missing the fact that they could just.… back off or relocate? Or shred through his armor near effortlessly?

LXII4 votes

You know the "Falls off" thing applies to the exact opposite of what you said right? If you build him full AD he hurts all game long, but most people don't, they build tanky and in later stages of the game he's not doing real damage anymore.

Astôlfo5 votes

Also to build off that, if you build full AD, you will never, EVER, get a single kill by the majority of your OWN work in said mid/lategame, because any non-retarded team will just CC you once and shred you to death in half a second.

Troll for Trump1 votes

Same with Riven 's "fall off"

dominusx1 votes

the only thing riven can do late game is flash combo. other than that she is garbage in the current meta since it's not splitpushing oriented

Troll for Trump1 votes

Lee sin does the same thing. Only thing he can do lategame is flash combo and 1v1(like Riven).

He can only go into fights more if he's not glass cannon, but the same is true for Riven.

Too many people go glass cannon riven.

GayFluffyUnicorn1 votes

IT's just a fact that lee lategame wise turns into a kickbot and nothing more. No matter how hard u cry facts remain facts.

Remember when Sona Was a jack of all trades support?

Apparently they didn't like that and made her a poke support instead

Yet Lee is still A-OK for being a Jack of all trades jungle

Leblanc . Try to say this about that champion, and you get immediately downvoted to oblivion. "BUT LAWL LB IS SUPPOSED TO BE USELESS LATE LAWLALUALKUAL"

People are effing stupid.

Astôlfo12 votes

I don't think he should be able to flash during the kick animation to change the direction of the kick, but I think the rest of the ability itself is perfectly fine.

Steelflame21 votes

I think the initial damage is a bit to high personally, I think it should be shifted to a lower TAD ratio/base than it's stupid 2.0 Bonus AD ratio with high bases to boot. A lot of champs can't outplay the wardjump+flash onto face, RQQE(if needed) or QRQE. It's a relatively low level of play mechanically, but the damage is just so stupid because of it on "Assassin (AKA Warrior)" Lee.

Especially after the Assassin rework, he has a more reliable assassination than actual assassin champs now, and he has assassin level target selection so it isn't like he isn't one mechanically either.

Astôlfo3 votes

If he builds that much damage, it's going to hurt. It also means he's incredibly squishy. If he builds less damage, it's not going to hurt as much. The only ones that are going to suffer from it are squishies. AKA, the ones who should be sticking with their teams and playing smart.

You know, warding around to check for his flank attempts, CCing him mid-dash, avoiding his attempts altogether (Flashing away/Zhonya's/Protobelt, etc), countering his attempts altogether (Barrier, Exhaust, Heal, Flash, Sterak's, GA, other counterbuilding options).

Steelflame9 votes

Lee doesn't take that much damage to have a 100-0 combo. Warrior alone adds 120+108+60 damage to his rotation, because all of his ratios are bonus AD and the total ratio roundup is a 4.8 bonus AD ratio. Not counting the fact that you can weave autos in on some of those parts of the combo, like directly after a kick and during the Q jump animation. Add in Titanic Hydra and you have a little shy of 100 bonus AD from items (Or 480 bonus damage on the combo, not counting Titanic proc which is variable depending on how much of the rest of his build he has finished), as well as runes and masteries to give him more damage into the combo. 1 AD item, one bruiser item, and full tank, and he has more reliable damage than any assassin almost.

I think the two biggest changes Lee needs is faintly tuned down damage, and to not have a top tier base move speed on a champion who already has mid-top tier mobility. He can run at you faster than just about any champ can run away, and can pretty much force a flash just by the nature of his presence in lane. I'm fine with Lee having flashy plays, but he shouldn't just stat-stick vs you either, and base move speed is just a stat-stick method of beating you. There is a reason Lees rush a Deadmans, because it just makes the stat stick method of securing a gank without fail even easier.

Astôlfo4 votes

I mean he basically is an assassin anyways. He's not good at dueling over length or brawling. Sure, he can. He's not optimized for it.

He's also just as reliable as assassins in that aspect (read: not very). (Lee/any other assassin) relies on landing their (Q, W, and or Flash/gapcloser) and diving into the middle of the enemy team and hoping they can get off their relatively long burst combo while still inside the middle of the enemy team and then get back out without dying.

You jump into the middle of a team to kick the ADC? You're about to get walloped by CC. You jump into the middle of a team as LB/Talon/Katarina/whoever else to assassinate the ADC? You're about to get walloped by CC.

Against any half-competent team who knows better than to just wander out by themselves or just watch blankly as their ADC is targeted, both will have a hard time. AKA, for both to do well, it takes an extremely high level of skill.

Steelflame1 votes

And yet, Assassins have less reliable damage than he does. It all is either delayed (Lee doesn't need to delay it, if he got in range of you he already is able to unload it all).

I'm fine with the idea of Lee being either an assassin or tank, but he is able to be both a bit too easily due to how stupidly high his bonus AD ratios are, it means he only needs to invest in 1-2 items in damage, and can leave the rest for tankyness. He either should lose out on his base values.

Also, Lee Sin is supposed to be a hard champion, with a sub-50 win rate as a result. Right now Lee's sitting at 51% (He likes the new jungle with even more tools to abuse, who would have guessed), with an astonishing 34% play rate. This last patch his win rate and play rate have both gone up, win rate by 1.5%, play rate by 10%. He is seen in 50% more games, and wins more games to boot.

Also, his late game fall-off is overstated, he starts at the 20-25 minute mark a 55% win rate, and it only decays to a 48.5% at 40+ minutes. If late game fall-off was as valid as people said, then that should decay to a 45% win rate late game for it to be of equal value. Combo that with the fact that early game decides the game nowadays, and most games end fairly early? Yea. He's overtuned fairly big.

Astôlfo2 votes

Q has a travel time. Q2 has a travel time. W to ward has a travel time. E has an animation time. R has an extremely long animation time.

I think the issue is the new jungle changes hurt his main competitors, since he himself did not change, while also being quite bad in solo Q for a very long time. Meanwhile, he has AoE and self-sustain.

Ulquiorra9951 votes

And that bullshit % scaling has no place on it honestly. Lee should be punished for not being able to get a good angle on a priority target instead of "lol imma just kick the tank and nuke them anyway"

Astôlfo1 votes

Or… You could just CC him mid-dash. Or not stand right in the trajectory of Lee Sin's tank kick.

TotalJerk5 votes

He was barely picked leading up to worlds.

The Deckowner2 votes

Rito buffed him specifically to make him be played at world.

and here is the reason they buffed him, quoted from 6.18 patch notes:

Lee Sin's become a rare sight in the professional scene as of late.

TwinkiePro1 votes

You mean the buff back in 6.14 where they buffed the shield amount? So big.

The Deckowner2 votes

nope, I am talking about the buff in 6.18 giving his W 5% more lifesteal at all ranks.

Except he isn'T a top tier pick for over a year. Nidalee: God tier Top Picks: Gragas, Elise, Rek sai Then maybe lee. Oh and olaf ofc had his time in the spotlight.

As long as he Lee Sin has counterplay he is fine in my eyes.

World Ender4 votes

But you can't....what, exactly? Finish your sentence please or else you're trying to compare something to nothing.

RisenDarkKnight5 votes

The person being kicked by Lee Sin can't flash during the kick animation, but lee Sin can flash during the animation.

So like if you are on one side of lee, he can start casting his ult and you are rooted in place as he flashes behind you and finishes the ult, knocking you into his team.

Most other abilities you have a brief window to flash yourself as the enemy flashes, but not lee sin ult.

GayFluffyUnicorn1 votes

Except this won't ever happen in any of our games. And if it was pure luck. Even pros and master/challenger don't even try it without a good connection because it's too easy to fuck up.

Because a lee sin that's good is extremely oppressive. Nerfing the ability to flash in ult by letting me flash in turn helps make his late gave shit like it should be considering his early game is retardedly good.
