Deathfire for AD champions
Hi! Well this post is about http://i.imgur.com/JMBQmuk.png on AD champs
.
#Point: making it viable on AD champs AND avoid making it stronger on it's abusers (both AD and AP).
Note: I am talking about those AD champs that don't benefit from Warlord's Bloodlust or Fervor of Battle; AD Casters and Poke AD champs.
.
#So far there are a few champs in wich I have seen Deathfire Touch being a successful mastery (on AD):
and it says a lot about it on AD champs.
.
#Reasons why DFT isn't working on AD champs that could actually use it:
-
(I'm not counting
and
on this one): -
If you are an AD champ you will rarely use Magic Pen runes, this means that DFT is 30% to 60% (and in some tanks 80%) less efficient in AD champs than in AP champs; this means your AD ratio on this mastery only means 40% to 20% of your bonus AD.
-
The mastery path of thunderlord has magic pen on it, if you are an AD champ you won't take the % magic pen mastery.
-
DFT feeds on your acquired stats (gold) while Thunderlord is barely effcient alone, you need a lot of lategame for DFT to be as efficient as Thunderlord is, and it feels kinda unfair.
-
Most AD champs relly on their auto attacks, Thunderlord can proc on almost anything, DFT only procs on damaging abilities.
-
There are few AD champs with single target abilities or with DPS abilities;
fits this theme. -
Some abilities that in any other case would proc Thundelord won't proc Deathfire Touch, yet they are abilities;
Q Bleed (DPS),
W bounce,
Q, etc.
#Ways to actually solve the issue without increasing it's AD ratio (and therefore avoid making it stronger on those AD abusers which are already strong with it
)
- If the user has more AD than AP make it deal physical damage.
- Cause DFT to proc upon auto attacks and auto attack based abilities for 2 seconds (half of the duration)
- Instead of it dealing a "base damage" (which doesn't scale and is kinda useless), make DFT deal a minimum damage of 2 to 10 per DoT instance which scales per level.
#MATH: Minimum damage doesn't take in consideration base damage or ratios, it means that if you don't have any AD or AP early game your DFT will deal base damage anyways, instead of dealing 0 damage (lame), and when you start feeding this ratio then the minimum damage won't do any difference because it doesn't work as a base damage, so once you reach plus 20 AD early game or plus 70 AD late game, minimum damage won't do anything, at the same time it helps early game of many champs and encourages a different build path in terms of runes (rather than just using flat AD or AP). Also early game for AP champs the base damage per DoT of DFT is 2.
#AD champs that could benefit from the change:

Tell me what you think.
.
so we were not lacking in the damage department. But between their
the map pressure was just too much to handle. I kid you not i won the game building
. My support also built
, and after the enemy kog survived my poison with 8 hp, I killed the enemy adc with the last tick of DFT. #Calculated!
