Seriously, how do you beat that? I cant figure out how. No matter who i play i cannot figure out how to beat barrels. Do you build hp? You obviously cant build armor, do you burst him before he hits you with a barrel? How on earth do you beat that? I've been trying to figure this out for ages and cant. Someone help!

this is not always possible.
in fact, good gangplanks will prep a barrel next to them or behind them and then chain barrels into you mid explosion.
thats the real issue. theyve found a way to negate the intended counterplay.
and once he has readied a 1 hp barrel, the time it takes to run up and auto attack it is longer than for him to react with a q on the barrel, so youre almost guaranteed to take the damage if you try to remove it.
Qzply763 votesWalk up to the barrel like you're going to cs or walk into the range of the barrel or the range of where he can place another one, then walk away, to bait it out. If you're playing a ranged champion you shouldnt even be asking this.

You kill him. He is squish. I play a lot of GP if this is anywhere near b5 to d5 he will misposition and u just kill him. Above d5 no one plays him cuz he is weak rn

You don't build against it, we build to penetrate armor, and if you build hp we just build crit. You have to either pounce on the GP or get good at breaking barrels. Champions like Renekton, Lucian, and others that have double aa's work really well, and i haven't seen a GP below diamond that plays well enough to not get bursted by a Riven/Fiora/Irelia/ ect. EDIT: i also struggle against Caitlyn or long range auto attack champions that actually focus the barrels from a long way away as well.

Lost R1 votesStraight health, if you want to try and tank through it, which I HIGHLY ill-advise. A Gangplank who was anti-tanking killed me a few days ago when I was over half my health as Thresh with over 300 armor and almost 3000 HP.
Otherwise, just pay attention to his movements, back up if he starts throwing down barrels, and anticipate where he's going to throw down the follow-up barrel and try and hit one of them to break the chain before he can fire it. It's difficult, but it's the best way to deal with him.
