Look at what this Nasus built on me team.

And to be honest I can't even be mad. He tried to build a third and I still wouldn't of given a damn. Not because we are winning. Because MR is a freaking joke. Sure he could of thrown in a banshees but it honestly wouldn't of made that big of a difference because the second one still helped him max out CDR.

There is something seriously wrong with the magic resist items when your choice each game is: Do I have regen or lifesteal? Spirit Visage. Do I not have those? Banshees.

His summoner's name is very apt.

The only one I would justify would be the GA because nasus can make use of it really well late game pushes. Other than that, I see no reason to pick any of those over CDR / Health.

QSS is really nice. QSS + GA and Nasus just won't die.

Wit's End is more of an offensive "bruiser" item, not really a tank item.

Abyssal is the same as wit's end, only for people that don't necessarily auto attack that much, and it's also situational based on the number of magic damage dealers on your team (not worth getting if you're the ONLY one doing magic damage).

Merc Treads are more for the Tenacity, the MR is just kind of a bonus.

Locket, let's be real, doesn't give NEARLY enough MR for a "tank" item. You get it to boost your teammates MR with the aura, and the shield.

Maw is an AD Caster version of Wit's End (without shredding their MR) with a nice shield, but it too... is hardly a "tank" item. It's also more efficient to keep the hexdrinker throughout the game, only upgrading to Maw as the 6th item.

GA is a situational 4th or 5th item, and doesn't do that much if you have no health.

QSS is amazing on certain champions, but unless you can make use of the AD, you're just going to sit on a QSS which is most likely used for the active only (if you remember to use it).

All that said, yea... there are only really 2 choices in MR if you're going to build tank, Trinity-Tank, or BotRK Tank.

If you're going full tank, then one or two mr items should be plenty, you will likely still need some armor, after that, building health is the most effective stat. Simply put, building three SV against a largely magic damage team isn't the most effective way to go. Especially on Nasus. Wit's End gives AS, Maw or Merc Scimitar both give AD and Locket grants mr for not just you but your entire team, not to mention the shield active. The thing with Nasus is that he becomes hard to kill not just because tanky, but because he has innate sustain that if you build right, helps him be beastly late game.

AS is largely wasted on Nasus. Sure, it CAN be helpful, but let's be real, your BASIC autos aren't going to chunk ANYTHING down... it's the Q empowered autos that do the damage, don't need AS to get more of those off (do need CDR though).

I actually mentioned that the MR from Locket is mostly to boost your team's MR (by what... 20?) and that locket was largely used for the shield, thanks for reiterating that using the same words.

AD increases the damage of Nasus Q and autos, but not by NEARLY as much as the stacking of his Q, so outside of Trinity Force, full tank is best (except the occasional LW 6th item which can be OK, but that's not for the AD, it's for the penetration.) Because of this, Scimitar and Maw are kinda meh. Sure, if you have QSS, you may as well get the scimitar for a 6th item, but other than that it's not really that great on Nasus.

Sooooo... yea...

AS means more sustain, AD falls into the same category. Sustain tank is a thing you know.

You buy locket, your support buys locket, you now have 60 mr. :P

I'm sorry, but if your thought is that Nasus is only good as a tank, you need to visit bruiser Susan, he's pretty mean.

Yea, I'm familiar... and I've seen a LOT more people completely fail with it than I have seen succeed with it.

I still stand by what I've said thus far.

Funny build. No clue why he even went gauntlet. Should have just bought every MR item in the game.

Then he still would have fed because a fed Ap champ will still beat someone who is only buying MR.

also since it's GD, you would call him bad for not building gauntlet if he didnt build it.

Sidepoint: I find bloodthirster amazing on Nasus:

  1. Raises his Lifesteal to 30% giving him a huge HP boost every Q.
  2. Dat shield tho
  3. Raises his dmg by 80. Not only will his AAs hurt more but his Q now is guaranteed to kill minions now.

If I am doing well in lane very often after or during first tank item I'll get a vamp and upgrade to a full BT.

I guess this answers the question: "Who guards the Spirit Guard Udyr?"

I see enemy is all ap with one ad... while his choice may seem strange it also is fine. hp + more mr seems smart to me.

maybe he don't know how to use the all item option to tick things to get item choices and was simply use of the recommended list?

because we have no clue to his thinking -other than his deaths were from mostly magic damages- I have to say he seemed to be adjusting his build to the match.

MajorPain91 votes

He did it on purpose, not out of stupidity.

Drunk Rummate1 votes

he should have built an aegis tbh

but double spirit visage is kind of silly when you can get the banshees spellshield for the same cost. oh well, considering your composition and how strong CDR nasus is i cant blame him.

building a ton of hp versus a vayne and barely any armor at all though... thats just silly
