Can we please move Shurima forward?

It’s been 3 years since Taliyah was released. 3 years since Taliyah, Sivir, Nasus, Renekton and Xerath met and fought. 5 years since Azir was released. 5 years since the rebirth of Shurima. Yet, not one single thing has happened since the last encounter. Azir and Taliyah’s story has yet to reach the climatic point.

The next 3 champions are Shadow Isles, Ionia and Lunari. When will another Shuriman Champion appear just so we can move at least something forward.

We moved Demacia forward with Sylas and Lucian’s story with Senna. Now it’s Shurima’s turn to shine.

Meanwhile, Bandle City has not recieved a single event since the release of LULU. Every single story related to champs from Bandle has been focused on something that is not the City. The only relevant information that we have about the city is that Yordles use portals, that is it.

But that is okay... we need more information about Shurima, because the lore of Ezreal, Pantheon, the Darkins and a whole event is not enough.

didn't we get a bunch of shurima lore with the darkin? and a little with ezreal though it's more about zaun and shurima's shared history i suppose.

Shurima will move forward in the story when Azir gets a buff so never.

When Skarner gets his rework he will move the Shurima story forward

I wish they would just move the lore forward in general give everyone their updated story and start pressing play on the timeline and give us multiple ways of seeing the plot progress. Newspaper articles (in universe), videos comics and stories I want all of them tired of waiting

I'm really craving a new champion from Shurima. I'd love to see an Ascended similar to Bastet, but really I'd be happy with anything. Even if it's not a champion that moves Shurima's story forward I'd be fine with that tbh. Shurima desperately needs to progress imo. It feels like it's getting left in the dust and that makes me sad as its my favorite region!

Didn't they have another comic planned after the Zed one? I'd say there is a good chance that this one could easily be a shurima comic, it doesn't need to be a new champ.

The main reason to release a new champion should be that they've come up with an interesting kit that makes for unique gameplay. Not just moving the story forward.

I'd say Shurima needs to move on but through the progression of already existing champions. I think it would be better over a new shuriman since most shuriman champs could use Visual/Gameplay updates and these changes could be reason to progress their lore and the lore of the region. Sivir, Xerath, Nasus, Amumu, Rammus and Skarner could all use a good dusting.

Counterpoint: Shurima and Demacia are two of only three regions to have any kind of story progression. Noxus, Ionia, Piltover, Zaun, Targon, the Shadow Isles and even the Freljord have yet to have ANY kind of story progression for the region. Hell, Bandle City hasn't even had its current lore state fully established.

Now, we've had a lot of INDIVIDUAL stories advance; Lucian just got Senna out of Thresh's lantern, for example. Yasuo was found innocent while Riven was found guilty of killing his elder (and apparently the events of Awaken are canon, so she's been captured and brought to Noxus for some reason), Syndra brought her castle into the sky, Ahri visited a garden of memory-eating flowers. Etc. etc. But as far as regions go? I mean... Mostly we've been either getting backstory (see the Ashe comic) or getting their current state established.

Senna’s story didn’t even really move shadow isles forward though. It just moved thresh and lucian’s. Still nothing for yorick nothing for maokai nothing for karthus. If this is going to be riot “moving forward” shadow isles lore, I’ll be beyond disappointed. It’s always just stuff with kalista thresh and hecarim while the rest of the region is neglected unless they get a rework/update (maokai and yorick) or straight up removed from the region entirely (mordekaiser and Evelyn)

i love the lore!!

Maybe releasing ugly Champs like Taliyah wasn't very popular and didn't make them very much money so they stopped. Smart move Riot.
