20 things that, as a support main, make me have a hemorrhage

Xebenkeck·6/27/2016, 4:23:33 AM·17 votes·1,720 views

Before I start this, know I am Bronze 3 and have been a support main since Braum's release, so this may not come as a "pro" opinion, but definitely one based in experience. Let's start the countdown!

  1. When an ADC pings target on an enemy and expects you to understand what they want in that instant. Are you wanting me to harass them? Focus them down? CC? Poke? Or just watch them? Bonus cringe if they do it when you aren't in lane/dead.

  2. Simple ADC's with complex supports. This only applies if you picked before your ADC. I feel like when you play a complex support (Bard Nami Lulu ) you have to have a similarly complex ADC. Or when you are the most complex on the team and you have TOO much control like Bard or Taliyah and they expect you to be super pro. Like bruh... save me.

  3. Azir Gnar Jayce Kayle Kennen Nidalee Pantheon Talon Teemo TwistedFate Yasuo Zed ADC bot lane. Not because I necessarily think they are ALWAYS bad, but I've yet to see one properly communicate a plan or a want. They have no goal other than "Get kills, get glory" (not speaking for everyone who plays these, just the most that I've experienced.

  4. Poor CS. I understand being behind or maybe losing a few from a death/DC/alien abduction, but being anything over 30 behind until team fights start happening is unacceptable in ranked, in my opinion. If you can't CS, go practice, you are losing gold because I can't hate it without being the problem.

  5. Stemming off 17, ADC's who claim the supp is why their CS is low (most often seen with immature jerkwads who don't know what item 3302 does.

  6. Junglers who NEED assistance pings to notice a struggling lane. I do jungle. I was a damn good Zyra jg before the rework. I know it's not that hard to press Tab, click that minimap or ASK. If you NEED a ping to go do something, you better do it fast and do it perfect.

  7. Mid laners who traipse into bot lane for free kills, extra frustration when WE are the winning lane. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

  8. Anyone who doesn't understand a support kit, and complains about it. Bard has brought me a lot of the "You are never in lane." complaints. No, I'm not in lane all the time, more so than regular supports, and while I don't apologize for that, I pinged for you to be careful, pinged where I was going and said in chat "Brb" and "collecting"/"helping mid/jg/top"

  9. Misplacing wards JUUUUUUST outside of the bush. Makes me want to kill myself.

  10. 1v1ing anyone and having my kill stolen. As a support, I rarely get to feel like what I do really matters or feel like I contribute to a game in a big way. So let's say I stroll through the jungle, warding my blue buff and I successfully 1v1 an Udyr as Bard, do not 90 cali. Net and give him your peacemaker. Do not Curtain Call just to snag a free kill. DO NOT FLASH-HEAL FOR THE SPEED TO AUTO HIM ONCE. I worked for that, not you, give me my gold.

  11. Feeling bad when I do better than the rest of my team. Usually it's because I play overly safe and being told I am only doing okay because I'm too scared to help. Like... I'm sorry?

  12. DrMundo Blitzcrank Volibear Trundle supports. Just... take your win and leave me to my shame.

  13. The overwhelming urge to try to make plays as Soraka. Someone stop me, take away the keyboard. I'm sorry.

  14. Hecarim .

  15. When the JG is in a party with someone else and we never see a gank.

  16. "What's your build" Typically when I Bard (he's my main, can you guess xD) I get the following item 2301, item 3056 /item 3050, item 3364, item 3065 item 3174/item 3060, item 3094 and item 3285

  17. The "..." when I make a mistake, take a siege minion, or a kill whether by accident or necessity. Stuff happens, I'm sorry?

  18. Being 1-3 levels and 1000 gold behind my ADC.

  19. Having my number of kills translated to my performance. 9 times of 10, I'll start getting kills JUST to prove a point.

  20. "you're a support, who cares." I care. YOU should care. If you are so sure you are fine without my help, you must not need it. Another perk of playing Bard. I can leave, lose ONLY gold and help other lanes. I'll come back to you when you've got a better attitude. Thanks babe.

You don't need complex ADCs with complex supports.

It's how well the ADC and Support can synergize. Sometimes you don't even need an ADC and support specifically..

I've seen two Bronze Bard and Annie beat a Gold Vayne player. I would have had my doubts if I wasn't top lane in that very game..

When I'm support.. My bane..

When ADCs Rush item 3006 first item.....

If you are the winning lane they SHOULD go to your lane to get extra gold. Yours is the best bet right? If nothing else you'll likely get the tower faster.

10.1v1ing anyone and having my kill stolen. As a support, I rarely get to feel like what I do really matters or feel like I contribute to a game in a big way. I hate having to deal with a support with a bounty on his head causing the game to be that much harder whether they live or die.

One thing I hate, AD carries who have absolutely no clue what is ever going on anywhere.

I had the entire river area warded, and yet the AD carry still gets ganked after the enemy jungler just walked past 3 different wards... I have an idea. If you can clearly see the enemy jungler approaching your lane. Start walking towards your tower, sure you'll probably miss 3-4 CS. But is that really worth dieing over?

See, this is why you're still in Bronze.

2v1 is almost always better than 1v1 because it is usually easier and because of assist it means +50% gold for the team

  1. I will tell you a nightmare to botlane, go Zac support as long as they don't pick Morgana. It's like free win, specially in bronze.

  2. Try this with Bard: item 3111 item 3512 item 3065 item 3742 item 3285 item 2301 and use this: http://puu.sh/pHs5B/867b1aa268.jpg this http://puu.sh/pHsab/10dc1ddfa3.jpg

And take: summoner 6 summoner 4

And be all over the map. Like gank mid, go bot, gank top, gank mid and gank bot, get all your chimes, don't miss one. This pisses off everyone in the enemy team so hard.

Another thing

Coming to the boards and bring up an actual support issue and everyone thinks you're just complaining for no reason and lying about the problems you've listed, and then proceed to lecture you on the role you main while meanwhile they've never supported in their life

I've seen this a lot lately

I agree with a lot of these but some are very exemplary of why you are in bronze 3 and havent improved much. Number 2, makes no sense. Number 18 and 19, youre a support main, you have to get used to these and accept it as part of the game. Dont main support if you dont wanna deal with it. Most of all number 10 bothers me more than anything. That is pure greed, and getting a carry a kill is your JOB. Do not steal or take a kill that can be given to a carry unless by accident, that is quite simply asking to lose. Funnel gold in to the damage dealers to allow them to carry you mid/late. You are the lane carry, after that you are nothing but utility. I would rather have a jhin with an extra longsword to increase the dmg of all his skills than a bard with a sapphire crystal so he can throw out an extra couple tunnels. YOU DO NOT NEED THE GOLD AS MUCH AS THEY DO IF YOU WANT TO WIN. You HAVE to accept that if you main support and ever want to climb. just my two cents as a bot lane dual main.

  1. Hecarim .

Yes, this. I am also a Bard main, and by god I now ban Hec every time I get the chance. Oh you have a ward? I guess I will just run past it with lightspeed so you don't see or have time to react. Don't forget those Zac ganks too. And also, about your build. Have you ever tried getting hextech revolver? I always get it early then sell it when I need room. Dead man's plate is pretty good too for the extra tank, cc and speed.

Number Seven though...if I ping I'm going bot lane, and I'm playing someone who snowballs heavily like Talon, I need that kill. Because that's how we do it. I don't agree midlaners camping bot lane and taking every kill from the ten minute mark on, but you guys could let me get a double kill or two.

Yaskamasandwich6/27/2016, 6:56:52 PM1 votes

One major problem I've had with the support role and sometimes jungle role that just makes me go berserk since day one: Apparently I don't decide what champion I pick. Just because my champion pool isn't fotm or any op bull shit doesn't mean I should pick that champ. Just because I'm support or jungle doesn't mean you pick my champ, I PICK MY CHAMP! I do 100x greater with a champ I'm comfortable with and know how inside and out than whatever bs op fotm crap there is. Then on top of that since I didn't listen to my overlords and had the nerve to "rebel" they just harass and sometimes troll and feed the entire game. Even if we win there is that bad horrible after taste in my mouth with the feeling "was it worth it that this piece of shit deserves the win? I might actually prefer to lose if that meant he or she lost."

Thankfully most of the time it's only the adc that rants and the entire team backs me up. Sometimes it's top lane or mid lane, but mostly adc.

@16 Lichbane+luden is funny as fuck, build on support is highly situational @4 there are lanes you can't win and you are often behind more than 30 cs @18 since 2nd season i run flat armor red yellow/quint gold and blue mr, i rather spend gold on needed stats than early ap.

Kaioko6/27/2016, 8:27:16 PM1 votes

You make some good points but some of your arguments are reasons enough you shouldn't play a support. For example number 10 - yes it's true you did all the work on the kill and are quite a bit stronger than your ADC early game. Fact of the matter is however, that gold is better off on the ADC (assuming he's competent) and will lead you to have an overall better chance of winning.

As far as my pet peeves goes - people who pick support because they want to stand behind the ADC and do nothing or because they believe it to be the easiest role. Supports have huge impacts, yes a lot of time they aren't flashy plays, but a good support can make or break a game.

Athenes Lulu6/27/2016, 9:09:32 PM1 votes

Number 8.

I mean, what the hell is a Lulu support anyways? Oh does she walk in, land a skillshot, and spoonfeed me kills? Totally! Plus the damage of (insert some mage)'s? Of course! Lulu, why the hell are you hiding behind me?

[zombie-brand-facepalm]

Everything else I'm either used to it (come on man, been supporting since the darkest ages of season 3 horrors), or as blunt as this sounds you just need to git gud.

MrPharmD6/27/2016, 9:34:37 PM1 votes

Trust me, there are just as many things that supports do that are equally infuriating.

SwiftKitten886/27/2016, 9:58:04 PM1 votes

i pretty much agree with everything except number 6

i don't care what lane your playing.. if u need help.. PING. or wise i'm going to gank the lane that is most convenient for my clear route, i do look at every lane every min or so to see how its going, but by all means if you SEE an easy gank or you NEED a gank befoure your losing its YOUR job to inform me of it, i cant see EVERYTHING at once.

In relation to number ten, i have had this happen to me so often, i recall once i was thresh roaming to gank mid, my Adc who was a Caitlyn, was ahead in cs when comparing to the other carry, on my way to mid, i notice their Rengar, who was about one quarter health, now, he was pretty fed, but i tried to 1v1 him, and i actually did successfully, but as i kill him, i see Cait fire off her Q, but missed, she the proceeded to say that i used her and i was a terrible support, since she was in a remade with our top lane, the top lane began to flame me aswell, but thankfully our jungle and mid had my back, after that she got so mad, she almost never came for teamfights, and would always get picked off by a 3-4 man gank, we eventually won, but thats because our Hecarim switched to full ad mid game, and 2v5 pentakilled the other team, but i do agree, when people try to steal a kill you have earned just because your support, they have no right to flame you.

Friendly Ram6/28/2016, 4:46:49 AM1 votes

Nice list. Only problem is ive never seen a mundo supp. How bad is it?
