Top 3 rules for gameplay discussions on the boards
Firstly, as people mess this up most often, the tanks of league are NOT the champions who build health and resistances. That is a description of a build. That build is Tanky, but the person who has it may not be a tank. Building full health and resists on kogmaw makes him Tanky, but sure as hell doesn't make him a tank. Tanks have more cc, better innate defensive steroids, and generally low damage potential compared to other options of champions who build tanky.
Secondly, burst damage and sustained damage are different types of damage. Losing 50% of your health in one second is very different than losing 10% of it every 5 seconds. A fiora cannot burst you for 50% of your health in a second unless she has a massive lead it a lot of ad, but she does excellent sustained damage. Annie can burst you for 50%+ of your health, but bag very poor sustained damage. We can go into detail as to why sustained damage will be inevitably stronger because of this, but that isn't the point.
Finally, being massively ahead DORSNT MEAN HAVING A LOT OF KILLS. Gold differential is a much more useful statistic as to when someone is ahead, so having 2 kills and 25 cs up on your opponent is just as ahead as 3 kills. Also remember objective control dictates your power in a game more than anything else, not kills, cs, gold, or anything else. Those things may be useful for objective control, but don't make it up exclusively.
Hopefully now people can have clearer conversations and better understand what others mean.
is a tank because he builds around the same health and resistances as a tank. He's also a subclass of tanks. Don't need all these words to describe a champion because you know what they mean anyway.
