Surrendering doesn't melt steel beams

I think it would be more realistic if surrendering didn't cause your nexus to splode.

Wolves and Midgets don't drop gold when you kill them irl.

Well.... I'm sure about Wolves. Further testing is required.

if you surrender right before they finish blowing up your nexus it ends up blowing up 2 times

The nexus isn't made of steel.

The energies of the Rift require stalwart hearts and determined souls to hold true. Surrendering shatters the core bonds holding the nexus together.

Since the concept of winning in his game is blowing up the enemy nexus, surrendering only skips all the process in the middle and jump straight to the result, hence nexuses still explode.

No, surrendering doesn't melt steel, it shatters magical crystals that symbolize the pride of the losing team.

The Nexus is held together by both steel beams and the magic of will power. When you surrender, that magic fails. When the enemy attacks the Nexus, the beams fail. Both are needed.

I feel like it makes sense given the setting.

Then again Riot decided the game didn't deserve a place in it's own setting so...

Think of it like knocking down your king in a game of chess.

Oh boy, are we not allowed to gives Fs anymore? Does it hurt people's feelings to lose? Should we just give you 2nd place?

In all seriousness, Sekai basically explained. You lose the game when your nexus explodes; your nexus explodes when you surrender because you lost. Stahp trying to make sense of basic video game logic like this >.<

Leaving a fist fight doesn't make your head explode in normal situations, but Mortal Kombat X still does it because it looks cool.
