How The Hell Do I Beat Zed In Lane?

I don't normally get annoyed by champions much, but good god. Zed pisses me off to no end. I hate that he melts my minions and pushes me back to tower. I hate that he can burst me down soon as he hits level 3. And I fucking hate the range that he's granted with his W. His harassment in lane is crazy and near unavoidable.

Yes, I know that Zhonya's Hourglass is apparently supposed to counter his ult; I take stopwatch every time I lane against a Zed. But how do I actually kill this fucker in lane before he kills me?

Certain champs like Yasuo (of course.), Akali, and Swain are capable of countering Zed. Mostly swain and yasuo, because their waveclear is much better than akali's. Second of all, bait his w, if he swaps with his clone towards you he cannot swap back, take advantage of that which is also even better if you do so alongside your jungler.

start with double dorans (add dark seal if you want too) then get seekers armguard and ninja tabi. Don't stay in lane with less than 80% hp. Now if you actually want to kill him you need to be actually playing a champ that can actually all in. Or have a jungler that knows how to gank a zed.

Good champs vs zed are things like Ekko Kayle Zilean that can ignore his R like it was nothing. Also, champs like syndra/oriana that outpush him and have good poke+ all in potential and are good at setting up ganks.

Zed has a low skill floor that's all. It means bad players can win vs other bad players all the time with him. But once the champ is pitted against skilled opponents it is the other way around and zed player needs to be more skilled to outperform.

Harass him when he goes to farm, punish his W returns, dont face tank Qs if u can help it, when he Rs, try to flash out of the pathing of his abilities so he cant execute you.

My best advice against a zed is: play one of three types of champs if you know you're picking into him: pick Lissandra, a long af range mid such as Xerath who forces him to blow his W swap early if he wants to press R to make sure you know exactly where he's going at any point in a fight, or play someone who can consistently stun him whenever he presses R, before he can do anything. Like Heimer, even. Drop your E on yourself when he presses R. He's now stunned in your full kit. They all underestimate the donger...but you can legit E/R/W so he's stunned, then eats 5 waves of rockets to the face along with any turrets you have shooting about 2 lasers each at him.

If you can't tell where I'm going: the goal is to force him to ult you, and punish him while he's trapped in his animations.

Heimerdinger is the uktimate counter.

Levels 1 and 2 hes not even a champion. Hes so bad you can just zone him off the wave if you can poke well like Syndra or Orianna.

Levels 3 and onwards you have to play more cautiously since hes strongest in this time in lane. If you dont die to Zed, you win lane. Zed needs to snowball to be efficient, and while hes not completely useless if behind, hes gonna have a hard time winning if he doesnt snowball in the beginning.

If he wastes his W on the wave, you have 17 seconds to abuse the shit out of him. Zed is reliant on his W as damage and mobility. If he fks up hos WQE combo, make sure you Zone him .

Also, you make a contradicting statement. You say you hate that he can push you under turret. And that he can burst you down once he hits 3 . Well, guess what, he has to choose between waveclear and damage. His damage is laughable if youre behind minions.

His W is 22 second CD. Play around that. No other champion has this much CD for a laning phase basic combo.
