Is Tahm Kench a failure?

Judging by the champion spotlight, Tahm Kench looks like a lot of fun to play. Really tanky and interesting mechanics. But I'm hesitant to spend my IP on him because while he might be good, you'd never know it because you never see him in solo queue.

Seriously. I've played maybe about 30 games in the past 2 days. I've seen Tahm once. For a relatively new champion, that just blows my mind. I can only surmise that people got him, played him once, hated it, and never went back. Not to mention he's very low on some tier lists that I've checked out.

So, is Tahm Kench a failure?

TK is amazing.

It's just people are ABSOLUTE SHIT AT HIM.

His W is the best tool for saving people (especially as a tank), his E is pretty much a second health bar or large heal after taking damage...

And his kit hurts even if he builds tanky. I like to go top TK against Riven because they try to go in and just get stunned.

If you learn him early on instead of playing ranked instantly, you should be fine. =p

Tahm Kench is anything but a failure. Though he does have a weird learning curve, once you get used to him you'll love him. There is no better feeling then having Zeds or Yasuos screaming at you in all chat for pulling them right out of their ults.

Just eat someone who Zed tries to all in and they're 99% more likely to survive. As for Yasuo, building Mikael's on Tahm makes for hilarious fun. You can instantly cancel his ult on 2 people at the same time, leaving him stranded in the middle of a puddle of angry allies.

Not to mention the objectives control. A well positioned Tahm ult can sneakily take your jungler to objectives that were warded. As some junglers have no wall clear capability, quite a few people prefer to ward the river so they'll see him coming for the lane or the objective. But Sneaky Kench can put allies over a wall, or bring people to objectives unseen.

Taken a few Barons, countless dragons, and moar due to use of his ally transportation abilities.
